Me too Doug -- & it's where I find myself when in the great outdoors
The outdoors is my church -- to be able to look out at views that the passage of time cannot affect, to appreciate beauty that has not changed since the beginning of time, is quite spellbinding -- it has a powerful way of putting things in perspective -- that is -- that we're just interlopers -- animals are the offspring of Mother Nature, they were the first living things -- Native Americans realized that and showed them great respect -- then along came the white man, and there went the buffalo, Indian tribes, run off their land in the name of railroads, gold rushes & other such "progress"
Peace -- hope this makes sense & is in keeping with the thread

Cry out to JESUS - Third Day (2005)

To everyone who's lost someone they love , long before it was their time.
You feel like the days you had were not enough , when you said goodbye.

And to all of the people with burdens and pains , keepin' you back from your life.
You believe that there's nothing , and there is no one who can make it right.

There is hope for the helpless, rest for the weary,
and love for the broken hearts.
There is grace and forgiveness, mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are.

Cry out to Jesus. Cry out to Jesus.

For the marriage that's struggling just to hang on , They lost all of their faith in love.
and they've done all they can to make it right again , still it's not enough.

For the ones who can't break the addictions and chains
you try to give up but you come back again.
Just remember that you're not alone , in your shame and your suffering.

There is hope for the helpless, rest for the weary,
and love for the broken hearts.
There is grace and forgiveness, mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are.

Cry out to Jesus.

When you're lonely and it feels like the whole world is falling on you
you just reach out, you just cry out to Jesus

Cry to Jesus.

To the widow who suffers from being alone, wipin' the tears from her eyes.
For the children around the world without a home,
say a prayer tonight.

There is hope for the helpless, rest for the weary,
and love for the broken hearts.
There is grace and forgiveness, mercy and healing
that meets you wherever you are.
There is hope for the helpless, rest for the weary,
and love for the broken hearts.
There is grace and forgiveness, mercy and healing
that meets you wherever you are.

Cry out to Jesus. Cry out to Jesus.

Cry out to Jesus. Cry out to Jesus.

We have hope ! ..........

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

"Oh God, you are my God,
earnestly I will seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.

I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as
with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth
will praise you.

On my bed I will remember you;
I think of you through the
watches of the night.
Becasue you aremy help,
I will sing in the shadow of your wings.
My soul clings to you;
Your right hand upholds me."

That's my king. I was talking with a sister this week, and she described the moment she knew Jesus died for her, personally, because he loved her, personally, that much. Awesome.

If I had cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened;
but God has surely listened
and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God,
who has not rejected my prayer
or witheld his love from me."

We found out today that my wife just has a cyst, nothing to be alarmed about. Thank God for that. I just don't know if I have the courage and faith that others have exhibited here to go through something as difficult as a terminal illness in a spouse. I've tried not to worry about it, but this a huge relief. I still have a couple of weeks to find out about my situation, so here's hoping for the best.

I will come and proclaim your mighty acts,
O Sovereign Lord;
I will proclaim your righteousness,
yours alone.
Since my youth, O God,
you have taught me, and
to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
Even when I am old and gray,
do not forsake me, O God,
till I declare your power to the next generation,
your might to all who are to come."

When my life is over, I'm gonna stand before the Father
and the sisters of the Son are gonna rock me on the water
Rock me on the water
Sister won't you soothe my fevered brow
Rock me on the water
Maybe I'll remember
Maybe I'll remember now

"But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.
Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. I eagerly expect and hope that in no way will I be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain."

Had my biopsy performed yesterday, a very highly unpleasant and uncomfortable proceedure, I can assure you. Glad that is over. Now I have to wait a week to find out the reults, so here's hoping ifor the best.

"Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless'
O lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you."

brother Doug , I don't have the words to express but you remain in my prayers as well
as your little misses and family. The wait is hard , and your strength and courage is of the LORD.

"Love and faithfullness meet together;
righteousness and peace kiss each other.
Faithfullness springs forth from the earth,
and righteousness looks down from heaven.
The Lord will indeed give what is good,
and our land will yield its harvest."

Getting a little anxious to find out what the heck is going on, really hoping it is nothing. Wednesday can't get here soon enough. Knowing will boviously be way better than wondering. Things are still hard for us right now, but we seem to be getting closer as a family and learning to rely on God more, so I guess everything is really OK.

Thanks Stephen. Results of the biopsy were negative - no cancer. Can't even begin to explain what a relief that is, and I feel very fortunate and blessed. Just have to get my PSA levels every six months for now, and i can handle that just fine!

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind, but now I see.
