Need some prayers guys. A friend of mine lost her 4 year old son in a drowning accident the other evening. Very difficult situation. I saw her and her family last night and though they are devastated they asked for prayer for strength to endure. I know the power of the prayers of people here, please share with my friend. Thank you all so much.

Doug, with school starting, it reminded me of Joseph. I've been meaning to ask about him, hope he and his family are holding strong. I keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

Kaleb's first day of first grade was good. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. We have come miles in our efforts with Kaleb, things are much, much better. Still have some issues, but not nearly like before. I am so thankful. Still kind of sitting on the edge of my seat, one day does not a school year make. Right now we're just enjoying the good and will deal with the bad if it comes.

Everyone take care and try to stay cool!

I haven't seen Joseph this summer, but hope to be his teacher again as soon as school starts. His doctros were trying to get him to use a wheelchair at the end of school last year because his bones are basically disintegrating, but he didn't want any part of it. I guess once he goes into one it will be very likely that he doesn't get out. Thanks so much for asking after him.
Sounds like Kaleb might be turning a corner. Keeping you guys close to our hearts.

"In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you will remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
You will roll them up like a robe,
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same, and your years will never end."

Ps. 102:25-27

I talk to him pretty often. Several weeks ago he said he had to take a break from here. He's goping through kind of a rough patch but is hanging in there, said he might come back here soon. Check your pms.

I miss piacere too! He's from Lil' Rhody & we we need all of them we can get around here...

Piacere's last post was about "Sir Lionel Luckhoo". Here is a quote from one of Sir Lionel's writings:

The bones of Muhammad are in Medina, the bones of Confucious are in Shantung, the cremated bones of Buddha are in Nepal. Thousands pay pilgrimages to worship at their tombs which contain their bones. But in Jerusalem there is a cave cut into the rock. This is the tomb of Jesus. IT IS EMPTY! YES, EMPTY! BECAUSE HE IS RISEN! He died, physically and historically. He arose from the dead, and now sits at the right hand of God.

Thanks CT.

"Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners - of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and recieve eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen."

Times still seem so hard for so many, and in many different ways. I know through my own experience I have found these times can represent an oipportunity to grow closer to God, to rely on him more, trust him more, increase our faith and knowledge of his goodness. Its difficult to be torn between life on this earth and survival of the fittest and "Love God with all yuour heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. And love your neighbor as yourself. In this are contained all the law and the prophets." That is what the Bible essentially represents for me; I get example after of example, over thousands of years, of people facing the same battles as I do and God's revelation of his loving goodness to those who stick it out. We have to help each other keep the faith.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you face tirals of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

James 1:2-4

"Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. Fpr what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), the you are illigitimate children and not true sons. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our Spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but Gopd disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produsces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."

Hebrews 12:7-11

I've been in I and II Peter for about three weeks now. Been bailing me out of that rough patch. Above water now and sailing along by the grace of God.

On a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothes
I asked her for salvation and she give me a lethal dose
I offered up my innoence and got repaid with scorn
"Come in," she said, "I'll give 'ya shelter from the storm."
