this past Sunday in church our pastor was talking about worship. as a noun, it ain't much, nor as an adjective.

but as a verb...he went on to say that worship is responding and responding in obedience. Much like Moses and Abraham, when they answered, "Here I am!" or Paul, blinded for a spell after asking, "Who are you, Lord?".

gave me a different and better take on what my walk entails.

See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him."

I pray for folks in this thread all the time.

Today though, I thought of you, Nancy, on one particular occasion which I hope (know?) you'll appreciate. The last three days (and tomorrow...) I've had my two grandchildren, ages 4 (boy) and 2 (girl). At one point today, after 2 1/2 days of flat out hysteria and madness, they napped. A rarity. I went into the backyard, alone, quiet and restoring what little sanity I had left and thought, "Nancy, wherever you are, I don't know how you do it. May our father in Heaven bless you".

Haha, I'm laughing because, well, you've been busy haven't you. I know exactly how you felt as you walked out the back door. Do you think this is why we have children when we're young? But man, those moments that catch you, a small hand mastering a task, the beam of their joy, children are a such magnificent creation. I know you're enjoying your time with them.

Like everything else we do, it's by the grace of God, and prayers of those who care.

Have fun!

One of the most heartbreaking things about my job is dealing with all these kids who don't realize how very valuable and special they are, who don't feel loved and prized above all else, and the effects that has on them. Every chance you get to love on and cherish a child, any child, take it.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Matt. 19:14

Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Matt. 22:37-40

"You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last." John 15:16

Been out for a few days, got hit hard with a nasty sore throat. I'm sure it has nothing to do with it being 105 degrees with 97% humidity, and silly me, I work outside. Doug, you should be getting some of this same heat.

piacere, hope you're recovering from your adventure. Looking forward to the next.

Everyone take good care.

I love the book of Titus. A really condensed teaching. Sound and strong.

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

"Similarily, teach the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemed, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us."

Titus 2:6-8

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.

I had a great time out in God's creation last week. My son and I sat by the river, in the trees next to a cliff of about 100 feet. There was a bench with a sign that said "Sit and listen to the sounds of nature." So we did, not saying a word. Then we talked about all that we heard and how perfect and eternal God's creation is, and beautiful and peaceful. It was a wonderful moment, and I felt so close to God and my son. Thanks God.

"Be still, and know that I am God."

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, " Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, " you are worried and upset about many things but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

So, Seth has made it back into the USA and will be back at his apartment about 1 or 2 in the morning. Heard from him when they got to Seattle, he sounds t i r e d. We plan to drive up and spend the weekend with him to hear all about it. Thank God for His grace.

Everyone take good care.

"Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

Hebres 4:14-16

Hey Nancy.
