"Come to me, all who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light" Matt 11:28

Okay, maybe I need some help. I wish I could put it all out here, but it would be one of those really long posts that take up most of the page. It's just life really. But it's hard, really hard right now. I'm asking for prayers for my 5 year old grandson, Kaleb and his 2 year old brother Silas. They're not sick, but struggling just the same. Visiting with a doctor today to see if she can help Kaleb. I REALLY don't believe he has ADD, I really, truly believe he is angry. Of course he couldn't say he's angry or about what and doesn't have the ability to deal with it. But he's getting in trouble at school and at home and doesn't seem to be able to control it. He doesn't mean to get in trouble. That's not an overly protective grandmother talking, it bothers him too that he gets in trouble. I just want to help him. I feel very weary.

Thanks.

that Matthew 11 :28 verse is about as comforting as anything anyone could say to you.

y'know, lately, the past couple of months or so, I've been really getting deep into my faith and the more I do, it seems the tougher things get. Makes me think of Job. Now there's an awesome book. Anyway, I may have mentioned before, if not then Doug certainly knows this, that prior to being saved when I was 38 (I'll be 54 soon) I was a pretty not nice guy. Hard, HARD drinking, drugs, from heroin to coke to anything I could get my hands on...and violent and self-righteous and pretty much lost. But I had "things".
Now, saved 16 years later, sober and made righteous by the blood of Christ, it seems there are more tests, trials and tribulations than before. Before, there weren't any. I was in the dark.

People think being a Christian is easy, or a "crutch" or that we're weak in that we've given in to God because the world is too much. Well...yeah. I tried the other "crutches", didn't work out too good. I believe that God has everything in control and the situations and people and issues that confront us are there in His perfect purpose.I've talked to a few pastors lately, some heavy hittin' Christians, listened to some great sermons on the radio, read some good, sound literature on our faith and have come to the firm conclusion that being a Christian JUST AIN'T EASY !!!

sorry I've gone on but remember, trials will come. Like Jesus said, they will come. I'll keep you in prayer. I heard some awful news today concerning a woman I used to work for and her two grandchildren and her lost ex-daughter-in-law. What a mess !! and this woman is a solid Christian.

Anyway, be comforted in Christ. He's awesome.

Oh, check out Ravi Zaccharias as well. Tremendous.

I know piacere, the verse kept going through my mind this morning. Because I was feeling weary. This is not a new situation. I bet your friend and I have a very similar story. And the fallout hits the kids. Doc today agreed with me, Kaleb is angry. There is nothing solid underneath him. Until now. Actually, my daughter moving home with these two gifts was answer to previous prayer. Man, it would take all night to tell you how many ways God has showed His hand in all this, but still there are consequences to deal with. And you are so right, the closer we walk with God, or maybe the more we seek Him, things do seem to intensify. Read this book once "Eli", there's a Jesus character and all the diciples, very cool book, anyway, the Peter character is struggling so much with Eli and the way he goes about things, and once he's really frustrated and says,"How can I ever be like you when every time I try to be the man you want me to be you raise the bar?" and Eli says "Keep saying yes to me and that's exactly what you'll be.

You know, Kaleb's issues, his trouble is not just normal everyday, really active kid trouble. It can be quite distressing as I'm sure is the case with your friend. I look at this little boy and know he is way too small to have to deal with all the crap that follows him around. And it breaks my heart. But know this. I'm going to climb this mountain. I may get weary, but I won't give up. But I will do it with the help of the prayers of others and I thank you for yours. You know it's just spring, working really long hours 6 days a week and trying to handle all this at home and some my Mom issues as well, just kind of piles up sometimes. Please keep us in your prayers for now and I will remember you in mine.

Nancy

"Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help given by Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain."

How true this is ! I believe God in His wisdom turns the tragic things that happen in our lives to good in this way. Who better to help someone else, than a person who has walked in those shoes ?

Man, Doug and piacere, were you with me today? Those last two posts were sent for me, I promise. You will be pleased to know that the angrier I got, the more I prayed, take this away from me and shut my mouth. Now I have a better idea how to handle the situation.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited."

My son called last night looking for a scripture, I usually have good recall on this but this one stuck me so I went to the source. He was looking in Jeremiah, man..... I need God to speak to me the way He spoke to Jeremiah..."Ah, Sovereign Lord, I do not know how to speak, I am only a child" The Lord said "Do not say 'I am only a child'. You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you."

And Job, piacere, you mentioned this one the other day. I love Job chapter 38, one of my favorites,. "Brace yourself like a man, I will question you and you shall answer Me"

The point is, and I hope I'm understood here, I'm not in need of soft, comfort, easy,...
I'm in need of strong words, I need to be taken by the shoulders and shaken. I need God to call me a selfish, self absorbed, self centered, impudent little child. And maybe that's why Seth called and asked about that scripture in Jeremiah.
