Happy Resurrection Day, my brothers and sisters.

Thank you, Our living Savior. What a price you paid...for me. For me, you suffered and died...and for me, you overcame death, so I can live.

But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

John 24:27

My heart was bad; the world had crowded out the Word so even though I had heard it, I did not believe it. My heart overflowed with useless dead things and was full of absolutely nothing. When Jesus died for me he offered me a new heart; his. I took it. Thanks Dad.

A voice says, "Cry out."
And I said, "What shall I cry?"
"All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field.
The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the Lord blows on them.
Surely the people are grass.
The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God stands forever."

Isaiah 40:6-8

I want to be compelled by your love to act for good today Father, not becuase it is the right thing to do, but because you have changed my heart to match yours and there is no other alternative. Amen.

Just wanted to ask for continued prayers for my homebound student Joseph. He has been in the hospital all week. Please pray that he gets to return home and for peace and comfort for he and his family. Thanks. You folks are the best.

Prayers offered Doug.

"I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster, I, the Lord do all these things" Isaiah 45:7

Once, I read this thing, it was a long time ago, I don't know who wrote it, I think it was like examples of the way we pray and the things we ask God for and the one I remember goes something like this,
Dear God please heal my handicapped child.
And God's response was, "her body is temporary, her soul will be with me"

It's so difficult to watch someone we care about suffer. My prayers will include you too Doug. Thanks for loving this child so much.

Nancy

prayers will continue, my brother.

I had some time today waiting in my car and on the local Christian radio, a pastor was giving a sermon on Joshua 1: 5-9, as follows;

5)" No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you.6) Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them.7) Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.8) Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

listened to another show this morning on WARV, a local Christian station (AM, btw and they need a new transmitter, AM radio is so tough to pick up, especially driving )

two guys from a church a few of my friends go to were hosting this show.

I strongly suggest that those of us who believe get good sound Biblical doctrine from a number of outlets. Not only the Bible, which in itself is sufficient but from other writings (again, based on solid Biblical doctrine) radio shows..( Dr.'s Stanley and Swindoll are AWESOME !!!) and other believers.

I say this to all of you for your edification, as well as mine.

God bless...

I agree with you piacere. Stanley and Swindoll are two of my favorites. Max Lucado is superb, especially "He Still Moves Stones". Phillip Yancey is excellent especially in the area of struggling with God. These last two are authors of course but the point is, there are others venues for the message.

I kind of feel like maybe I've offended someone with my last post. I certainly did not intend to. My thoughts were of how hard this is for Doug...and of course for Joseph and his family. In my experience in these oh so very difficult situations it's sometimes easy to lose sight of the fact that God is in control. He knows the suffering of this precious family and as hard as it is to witness we must never forget His ways are not our ways. We have to believe that He knows what He's doing.

I commend Doug's action with this child and this family. I'm thankful he is able to bring light into this very dark situation. It takes a lot of strength to do that, especially when the situation involves such a very young life. So I thank God for reminding me that He sends us where we are needed and gives us the tools to do the job. And for showing me such a shining example of that in Doug. He could say "Lord, it's just too hard". Like Moses saying "Here I am Lord, send Aaron". And I ask God to sustain Doug, to strengthen him daily and bless his family.

So that was really long winded. I apologize. And I bet my fear of offending someone was imagined anyway. But it felt good to say all that. I'll be quiet now.

I can't imagine anyone being offended by anything you've posted, and I'd be very surprised if anyone was. I know I need and appreciate all the prayers I can get. That's one of the ways we strengthen and sharpen each other, like iron.

"Love one another as I have loved you."

Thanks guys. It's a stressful time for me right now and fear always gets a good hold at times like these. Fear of EVERYTHING. I really like this thread. Especially when I'm stretched so thin. It helps me take my eyes off myself and my unfounded fears for a little while.
