Thanks Doug, Piacere and Enzo. Got through our first combined service yesterday without too much pain. I have a lot more peace about the situation now. It'll be alright.

Gald it went good for you Dave.

I know I invited you to the Millbrook contemporary service, but you would have to lose the coffee! No food or beverage in the worship center, although a cup of coffee sounds good during preaching, have it during Sunday School though.

Christ the Lord is Risen Today!

Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!

Love's redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!

Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once he died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where's thy victory, boasting grave? Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like him, like him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!
Hail the Lord of earth and heaven, Alleluia!
Praise to thee by both be given, Alleluia!
Thee we greet triumphant now, Alleluia!
Hail the Resurrection, thou, Alleluia!

King of glory, soul of bliss, Alleluia!
Everlasting life is this, Alleluia!
Thee to know, thy power to prove, Alleluia!
Thus to sing, and thus to love, Alleluia!

"Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Without warning, a furious storm came upon the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"
He repied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" then he got up and rebuked the waves, and it was completely calm."

Got to take my 12 y/o daughter to a daddy-daughter dance last night, after having lunch with my wife and kids at their school and playing at our high school talent show with the principal and two assistant principles. What a great day. Spent the day today with the wife and kids doing all kinds of stuff, topped it off with dinner and a movie for the wife for Mother's Day. Absolutely wonderful and overflowing with joy and fullness. 15 years ago, before I became second to God, days like these would not have been possible. Thank you Lord.

Nam, sometimes have such a hard time remembering that! And the dance was great. She flat wore me out though.

I know a lot of people that are still having a pretty hard time of things right now, and I know a lot of people that are very frustrated at how things seem to be progressing. Things seem to be unfair, to lack common sense, to not take the best interests of the people as a whole into consideration. Our leaders and prognosticators seem out of touch with what is going on individual by individual, family by family. I truly believe that in the end love prevails, that the grace and loving mercy of our Lord engulfs the darkness and turns it all into light and joy.

"At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."

Matt. 24:10-13

Here's hoping people are making it through these tough times. For myself I know that I tend to turn to God and rely on him more when things are hard, which actually turns hard times into better times than what I would normally consider "good times." God always seems to do something just when things seem impossible so that we will know he is God.

"Sout for joy, O heavens;
rejoice, O earth;
burst into song, O mountains!
For the Lord comforts his people
and will have compassion on his afflicted ones."

Isaiah 49:13

Amongst all the turmoil this world has to offer and all the strife and animosity amongst its inhabitants I sometimes forget to just sit down and take in the beauty that God has created for us and the peace only he can give.

"The Lord is my sheperd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
he resotres my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his neame's sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me.
Your rod and your staff comfort me.
You prepare a table for me
in the presence of my enemies,
You annoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodnes and love
will follow me all the days of mny life
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever."

Ps. 23

I've been thinking about Bobo a lot lately, and the above post really hit home. That is one idea he held onto for so long; that each day is a gift and to never take anything or anyone for granted. Life is so precious and short and sweet. Too much so to sweat the small stuff. In the end the only thing that will remain is love. Everything else will be thrown into the fire and burned away.

"If I speak in the tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I am a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a chjild, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now we know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greateset of these is love."

1Cor. 13

Thank you for posting these thoughts on this thread, folks...I've been needing some "positive reinforcement" to keep me looking in the right direction and not letting things get to me too much.
I read it from start to finish this morning and I feel refreshed and positive now
