"Not only so, but we rejoice in our sufferings, becuase we know that suffering produces perseverence; perseverence, character; and cahracter, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has pured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us."

Romans 5:3-5

thank you, Jesus.

my life is my witness to your glory and my testimony is in honor of your truth.

yours is the only way that carried me through and you waited for me to try all other options.

thank you for your patience with me and showing me the way to life.

that covers so many facets of life that they're too numerous to mention.

in fact, it covers all of it.

it's an amazing thing, His offer of peace. It totally changed my life and transcends everything I ever tried or conjured up on my own.

"...before I get myself all down, I jump up and kick the door down.
And walk down on the street, and leave my blues at home..."

Words of comfort, favorite music, leaning on friends/family are all helpful.

For me, as trite as it may sound, the ultimate solution is to just buck up and push on. Will to survive.

I mean, do we have any choice?

I guess we do, since so many make the choice to check out on their own. And I really don't want to just survive, although I'm pretty sure that is not all that you are talking about settling for. I want more of this "life to the full" thing. Life these days seems to be such a blessing, such a joy, even when times are hard.

"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.
You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy;
they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest,
as men rejoice when dividing the plunder.
For as in the day of Midian's defeat you have shattered the yoke that burdens them,
the rod across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor.
Every warrior's boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood
will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given;
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counsleor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this."

Isaiah 9:2-7

We're in a revolution
Lord you know its right
Everybody's singing
There'll be no one to fight
People can you feel it?
Love is everywhere

Someday.

We'll reach it & we'll all be singin' and we'll all be friends
back where it all begins

the lyrics to Stevie Wonder's Visions of my Mind come to mind too, People hand in hand/will I live to see this milk and honey land/...but what I'd like to know/is does a place like this exist so beautiful/or is it just a vision of my mind..." (I don't really remember how it goes) --
the words of Genesis come to mind too, In the beginning, God created heaven and earth --
good reading, just like the Daily OM was -- thanks

"There's a song I haven't sung
about the devil Lord what he's done..."

The lyrics to "A Song I Haven't Sung" by Lonnie Mack are very powerful -- it ends with "Jesus loves us all everybody, Jesus loves us all/He will give us peace everybody, Jesus loves us all..." -- a very spiritual song

Back at you Doug, always the best to you bro

As we remember those that have passed on before us I'll post one of my very favorite verses.

"In my father's house there are many rooms. I go there to prepare a place for you, so that where I am you may be also. If it were not so, I would have told you."

"We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the majestic glory, saying,'This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain."

2 Peter 1:15-18
