I know not everybody is a WS fan but I thought this article was pretty funny. Really shows what kind of guy Jack White is.

http://ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/white_stripes_play_short est_show_ever.html

The White Stripes wrapped up their quirky Canadian tour July 16 with a single note in St. John's.

Following shows on boats, buses, bridges and classrooms, Jack and Meg White took to the stage on George Street in St.

John's and played a single note - reportedly a C-sharp - before announcing they have "now officially played in every province and territory in Canada" and leaving the stage.

Hundreds of fans showed up for the last minute event, but were pre-warned that the show would be just one-note long.

Later that evening, the band played a full-length set at Mile One Stadium in the city.

The final show on their Canadian tour proper.

I'd like to get a copy of this show.

Can you help a brother out?

I wonder how the stage hands feel about rigging up a whole show and they only played one note.

I just saw the White Stripes and can honestly say that I wished the show only lasted one note.

I gave them a chance and got exactly what I expected.

I really think Jack White is a great, creative artist, but this one-note show thing is just stupid. It's an unnecessary gimmick that takes attention away from that great new cd they put out.

I asume you maen the Ottawa Blues Fest , I thought they rocked , one of the big surprises for me at the fest , I have never listened to them before but thought their set was original and exciting , I'll take them over Blue Rodeo anyday . To each their own .

Excerpt from CBC article from Stripes x-Canada tour, I heard they also played a bowling alley in Saskatoon and a classroom in Burnaby, BC, probably played on the sleeping giant in Thunder Bay.

Some lucky fans of the White Stripes got up close and personal with the band, which played impromptu concerts on a bus and at a bridge in downtown Winnipeg.

White Stripes duo Meg and Jack White, seen here playing a spontaneous gig on a Winnipeg bridge, are on a cross-Canada tour.

The Detroit duo, in the middle of a cross-Canada tour that has them visiting every province and territory, played to very small but enthusiastic crowd just before their main show in Winnipeg on Monday night.

The White Stripes, Jack and Meg White, serenaded a handful of fans on a city bus and then got off to launch into an acoustic set on a city bridge.

Thom Johnston, who was tipped off by a friend to head to a certain location, said he was surprised to discover it was a bus stop. Then a transit bus came, with the White Stripes in it.

"I was blown away. I was sitting right across from them, and they started playing songs. It was incredible," Johnston said. "It's really admirable. They care a lot about their fans, and just take the extra time."

John Kendle, music critic for Uptown Magazine, lauded the musical pair for their dedication to their fans.

"It's very rare to find stars of the calibre of Jack and Meg White going out in the middle of the day [in the] cities that they're playing and drumming up a little bit of hype and sort of giving something back to fans."

Jack White is promoting the group's latest album, Icky Thump.

The White Stripes delighted fans in the North recently with sold-out shows in Iqaluit, Yellowknife and Whitehorse, in addition to a spontaneous performance in a downtown park in Whitehorse. The duo also jammed with Inuit elders and ate caribou meat in Iqaluit.

Just one listen to the keyboard parts in their Icky song says it all. No idea how to play keys so he just hits any note regardless of key or being in tune. laughing all the way to the bank.

I said I would be fair till I saw them. I did. You guys can have all the albums and tickets. I sure won't be there. Good thing Meg has breasts because she sure can't play drums. To say that she has tempo issues would be putting it mildly.

I am no Blue Rodeo fan but they are not even in the same league musically. I'll take Blue Rodeo every time thanks.

For a group to set up and play one note, just for some bragging rights.....semms absurd to me.....

No STUPID.......
