Our dear friend and Hittin' the Note Publisher, Bill Ector, recently had emergency surgery to save him from a life threatening situation. While Bill is recovering very nicely, he faces a stack of of medical bills, given there was no medical insurance. Many of you have been very kind and asked how you could help. We have set up a page on the Hittin the Note website for credit card constributions. Or, if you would like to send a different amount, please send a check, made out to the "Bill Ector Medical Fund" to: Hittin' the Note, 8343 Roswell Rd., Suite 345, Sandy Springs, GA 30350. Thank you so much for contributing to this worthy cause...the link is:

Again, Many Thanks,

JNB

In addition to the proper Medical Fund that has been set up, and in addition to any fundraiser concerts that may be forthcoming, we would like to add:

Syd will be bringing his handcrafted firepits to Wanee for sale. For every firepit sold, Syd will donate $50 to Bill's medical fund. Enjoy the great firepit and donate to the fund at the same time.

If I knew how I would attach a picture, but our ad ran in the last HTN!

Any monies (checks, cash, money orders, etc.) to go directly to Bill's fund will be given to Joe Bell for deposit on the day that it was donated. Please help us help a brother....

Here's a picture of Syd's fire ring (and my son's shoes!). It is a beautiful thing, especially with a fire! Just picture flames dancing with mushrooms, mules and dTbs!!!

I am interested in one of those Pat! I'll PM about the cost.

Sending best wishes and love to Mr. Ector.

I'll go make my contribution for my dear friend now. Thanks, Joe! We're also working on a fundraiser for Bill. Details to follow.

Reach in your hearts, souls and pockets and do what you can to give back to a man who has given us all so much

Dearest Bill, hope you are doing well. I can't contribute right now, but as soon as I get a job you will be the first on the list. I will be helping Miss Terry with the benefit though so that will be my contribution for now.

Love ya and miss ya and need a hug bad!

Barb

Thanks TopGroog for that help with the pix and also to NYCBarb!

Here's the scoop. Syd will have some firepits with him for sale at Wanee like what you see in the picture. $275, One that folds completely flat rather than nesting for $300 and he can take special orders for other motifs if you like. He will donate $50 for each one, including any orders he takes at Wanee.

Thanks everyone.

Damn those are way cool.

So I just wrote a small donation and it felt really good.I am going to try and send a small check every payday.Kind of like a monthly Bill but one that makes ya feel all fuzzy inside instead of basically pissed off. I know my small donation ain't going to do a whole lot but as a collective I think we could actually crush Bill's medical debt and help a solid brother out.So instead of going out to dinner tonight I sent a check .No biggy, would not even mention it I but wanted to encourage others to do so as well. Together we could do a very kind thing for a very kind Brother. The world SUCKS out there alot but heres something we could all get behind to make it just a little more beautiful place.Worth every dime if ya ask me.

So Bill thanks as it feels good to give, you focus on getting your health back and that willmake our small ball a little hipper place to call home

Here's a suggestion and a great way to raise money.
It's done often on the audio site I frequent.

A sponser or the website, in this case HTN puts up some sort of product. Lets say the entire 06' Instant Live set.
You put 200 tickets available to be purchased via Paypal, set a max per person 2 or 4 tix @ $20 ea.

Sell 200 and that's 4K to be donated.

You have a drawing to see who wins the 06" Instant lives, and you've raised 4k.

Thank You.
I've seen it done twice on the audio site, here's the link tot he most recent auction.

http://av123forum.com/showthread.php?t=19302

In this case the person who sponsered the auction paid for the speakers himself, he possibly got somewhat of a good deal from AV123.They are very generous. In past the speakers being offered for the auction were in the $2500 price range.

Like I said ,offer something that ya know people would want. I'd bet ya you'd sell 200 $20.00 tickets if the 06' Instant Lives were the "prize"

How about offering 07' Beacon tix ? A pair for a Saturday night show ?

You'd raise a boatload of cash !
