I had posted some info about postage rates for B&P packages and was asked to put it in a separate thread so it would be more visible. I dug up a little more info since the original post. Here's the results:

###################################################
BASED ON COMMENTS HERE:

http://www.allmanbrothersband.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=XForum&am p;file=viewthread&tid=60845

MY UPDATE FOR 5/14 MAY HAVE BEEN PREMATURE

STAY TUNED FOR AN UPDATE
#####################################

** THESE RATES HAVE BEEN UPDATED TO REFLECT THE NEW May 14, 2007 INCREASES **

NUMBER OF CD's 6 X 9 BUBBLE MAILER / OUTER ENVELOPE: 9 X 12 or 7.5 X 10.5

1 $0.58 / $0.58
2 $0.58 / $0.75
3 $0.75 / $0.92
4 $0.92 / $0.92
5 $0.92 / $1.09
6 $1.09 / $1.26
7 $1.26 / $1.26
8 $1.26 / $1.43
9 $1.43 / $1.60
10 $1.60 / $1.60
11 $1.60 / $1.77
12 $1.77 / $1.94

Here it is with the weights, applicable for trades.

US Postal Rates
1 oz = .41 1 Disc
2 oz = .58 1 & 2 Discs 6x9 mailer
3 oz = .75 3 Discs
4 oz = .92 4 & 5 Discs
5 oz = 1.09 6 Discs
6 oz = 1.26 7 & 8 Discs
7 oz = 1.43 9 Discs 9x11 mailer
8 oz = 1.60 10 &11 Discs
9 oz = 1.77 12 Discs
10 oz = 1.94 13 & 14 Discs
11 oz = 2.11 15 Discs
12 oz = 2.28 16 & 17 Discs
13 oz = 2.45 18 Discs
14 oz = 2.62 19 & 20 Discs

Don't forget that excessive tape and adhesive labels can bump you up to the next rate very quickly. Mini-scales can help avoid confusion. HoustonMuler indicated that Office Depot has them for around $8. Hey, at least the scale would be for a legal cause!!

I have a theory that discs burned with strong bass and drum tracks are heavier than say, those burned with just a flute solo. So, any mailers with Mountain Jam discs should check for extra postage! (just kidding)

Can I add a note here?:

Several of the folks here have noticed that when I send off for Bnp's, I put my own home address on the to and from lines-------that is in case, if, I make a mistake on the postage, it gets returned to sender, and the generous person providing the music doesn't have to guess at what I did............I would be stuck for the postage due if I make the mistake ...........supposedly

Cheers

Carlos
