It isn't worth traveling all that way for only one ABB and one Mule show for me. Just my humble opinion.

Have you ever been to Red Rocks??

It's prolly worth it for us.
Although, it's a week after the family vacation, so I'm not sure we'll be able to swing it.

It's a beautiful venue in a beautiful area of the country - heck, last year we flew round trip from DC just for the one ABB show, and it was worth it.

The 2 times I have gone it was for one show each time and I can definately say its worth it. It is probably the best outdoor venue in the country.

This is from the link that I posted. Again, if you have never been there, you dont know what you are missing.

Chuck Morris Presents, one of Denver's biggest concert promoters, today announced additions to its previously released lineup of heavy-hitting summer tour stops.

Although tickets are not yet on sale, Chuck Morris Presents confirmed upcoming shows for these venues:

Pepsi Center: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, with Pearl Jam (July 2-3)

Red Rocks Amphitheatre: Counting Crows with Goo Goo Dolls (July 5), Steely Dan with Michael McDonald (July 31), Bonnie Raitt and Keb' Mo' (Aug. 29), The Allman Brothers Band, with Yonder Mountain String Band (Sept. 1), Gov't Mule, with Yonder Mountain (Sept. 2), Willie Nelson with Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (Sept. 3)

Paramount Theatre: Hot Tuna "Acoustic" featuring Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady (July 19), Joe Cocker (Aug. 11)

These shows join previously announced sets from Nine Inch Nails, with Bauhaus and TV on the Radio (May 30, Red Rocks), Big Head Todd & the Monsters (June 10, Red Rocks), The Fray (June 24, CityLights Pavilion), The String Cheese Incident, with Bob Weir and RatDog (July 1-2, Red Rocks) Ween and Flaming Lips (July 29) and Dave Matthews Band (Sept. 12-13, Red Rocks

Looks to me like nothing to go to red rocks for. Mind you I just saw 6 ABB Beacon shows.

Angel, But have you ever been to RedRocks? Believe me it is oh so worth it. The acoustics are perfect in this natural Amphitheater.

Come aboard girl...you'll be glad you did.

I have never been, and would have liked to go, but alas, I will not spend $1500. (shows, car, hotel and airfare as I travel from NYC) to go to see one two and a half hour Mule show. Also, I saw 6 ABB shows at the Beacon so I probably won't need an ABB fix for another few motnhs.

I am sure that the shows will be great for those who do go.

I'm just a bit confused...sooo unlike me...

If The ABB is there on Sept 1st and The Mule is there on the 2nd, why not just have a Double-bill of The ABB and Govt MUle for two consecutive nights...It makes sense, doesn't it? That would REALLY be worth the trip!

That would have made sense. Of course only because it is a big travel deal to go there from NYC. I am sure those who do go will have a fantastic time. Much like they had in Wanee.

Man, I don't know but they only played one show at Red Rocks last year and it was one of the best ABB shows I've seen. One show at Red Rocks is worth it, imo...

Since that was the rumor I originally heard, I am disappointed. I will go and i am sure it will be great, just not as great.

2 nights of ABB would make sense. Mule with lot's of special guests would work also. Knowning Derek, he probably has a gig in Maine (or fill in the blank) on that night. I loved the Mule set in SF a few years back, that turned into a full PLQ set.
