What is the best Phil Lesh & Frineds show of the Warren/Jimmy era? By best show I mean a concert that features the best all around performance by all members of the band.

Lotsa great shows from that line-up. I'm partial to two that I saw - 7/2/02 Blossom Music Center (great ''Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys'') and the Riviera Theater in Chic. 11/?/03 (great cover of ''Keep On Growin' and an outstanding ''Loose Lucy''). I'd like to see that line-up get together again for a few shows.

I am a big fan of the Warfeild run they did in September 03, they did a lot of stuff in three days and they were absolutly killing some stuff, They did alot of shortened songs (Terrapin on night 3) but played tons of stuff and the jamming was incredible, some of the best Angel band, Golden Road, Soulshine , Blue Sky's, Into the Mystic's, Wharf rat's, know you rider, not fade away, All kinds of stuff

I also like the Bertha remaster's you can DL off of the archive , as well, Good sound all

Like everybody else, I'm biased because I was there. But the 11/30/03 Tower Theatre show was absolutely incredible. I think Phil said afterwards it was one of the top 5 shows he's ever been a part of. It went a little something like this:

Set 1: Jam> Scarlet Begonias> Fire On The Mountain> Wharf Rat> Jam> Viola Lee Blues> Jam> The Real Thing> Lovelight
Set 2: St. Stephen> Cryptical Envelopment> Jam> The Eleven> Jam> Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys (v1 & v2)> Dark Star (v1)> She Said She Said> Jam> Dark Star (v2)> The Other One> All Along The Watchtower> Stella Blue ...Donor Rap/Intros...
E: Cumberland Blues

The show was so good they released the soundboard even after they'd already released the Warfield soundboards from the same tour. It really doesn't get any better than this. Straight from the opening jam the interplay is near telepathic. Primal.

I agree with the fall tour of 2000 as being a group of amazing shows (and lots of soundboards)

Early 2001 saw some amazing shows, particularly towards the end of April. However, I am partial to 2/18/01

Set 1: Dancin' (RB)> Jam> Scarlet> Dancin'> Playin' Coda> Jam> Milestones> Dupree's (WH), Bertha (RB)
Set 2: Caution Jam> Dear Mr. Fantasy (WH)> Dark Star (v1)> Tomorrow Never Knows> Dark Star (v2)> Wharf Rat (WH)> Rag Jam> Viola Lee Blues> In the Midnight Hour (WH)> Jam> Viola Lee Blues
E: Strawberry Fields (RB)> GDTRFB> Comes A Time (WH)> And We Bid You Goodnight

there are released boards from every venue on that tour...it was a series of four night runs...and each four nights has one release.

All three nights of that run were released as free SBD downloads, and formed the basis of Top Droog's Favorites, volume 3 (my favorite tunes from that run).

Incidentally, my favorite PL&F UJB is from 7/12/2001.
