I read about that in the NYT the other day... who knows how it'll sound, but they did say Snoop had wanted to do the song for years. At least that's a plus. And no, I don't think it could be as bad as Come With Me.

His brain is squirmin' like a toad

Sweet memory will die
Killer on the road, yeah

Just because Jim looked like Jesus when he had the beard...

Linnie, that's too bad... I think this could've been reasonably cool if they'd done it right, but when you speed up the song you lose the atmosphere and it's not that interesting. Oh well.

My friend gave me a Snoop Dogg porn made by Hustler Magazine.
It's pretty crazy.

The Archies have already been used. The latest pathetic destruction job samples Ozzy's crazy Train. Poor Randy Rhoads is turning over in his grave.

I think I heard that somewhere . . . very briefly . . . like while walking past a store in the mall or something.

And, as I mention nearly every time Ozzy's name comes up, I'd love to get a copy of Ozzy and Dweezil Zappa's cover of "Staying Alive" by the Bee Gees (just in case anyone has that).

Yeah, that one's pretty bad. If I remember right, Busta Rhymes did a song called "This Means War" a couple of years back and did the same thing with Iron Man. From what I remember of it it wasn't quite as awful as the Crazy Train thing.

Ok, guys, I have a confession to make. I heard this song for the first time the other day and was initally mortified. I couldn't believe Snoop's vocals were sharing the same track as such a classic. Here comes the bad part, and please, please don't think less of me. Somewhere in the middle I started bopping my head.

I'm sorry, please forgive me....

I could understant snoop and even trick daddy for doing the ozzy thing, but I about died when I heard that sample of the archies song. It came on the radio and I just looked at the guy next to me and said "just when you thought that there was one song no one would sample."

A few years ago, I heard a Q104.3 deejay say he was surprised nobody had ever sampled the main riff from Layla (which he'd just played). I told the radio "Maybe they know how badly I'd hurt them if they tried!"

. . . and in the investigation of the public flogging of rapper Uvtha Week, police have very few leads, but are following up on a tattered notebook found at the scene . . . Linguistics experts are having trouble decoding the text of the notebook, and are now simply referring to the code as "language abbdtbgm" . . .

Said Chief Buster Kapinyeraz, "we suspect it was a crazed Duane Allman fan."
