It looks as if this one is projected to hit the West Coast of Florida and then head up the same path as Frances. Experts are predicting that there may be as many as three more hurricanes in September and that hurricane season will head into the fall, which usually means that there will be some ferocious North-easters this winter. "Grab onto your neighbor man and we'll ride this thing out."

You know I'm starting to believe all that "global warming" stuff. Anyway, to all potentially in Ivan's path or any of the other storms to come. Play it smart, and be prepared and be safe. Don't want to mess with Mother Nature when she's in her fury. Also, say a prayer for the safety of fire and rescue, law enforment, medical personel, and utilities workers who have to be out in these storms. They are all true heros that we couldn't do without.

What I've heard - my roommate is from Florida, so he follows this stuff very closely - is that on its present course Ivan will miss Florida. But it will go into the Gulf of Mexico and into the US from there. Meanwhile a lot of people could be killed if it hits Haiti.

These things do change, but that map shows the worst of it will probably still miss FL... we'll see what happens.

Bad news; as of 2 AM Ivan became a category 6 hurricane, with winds exceeding 160mph .This has become an extremly dangerous storm with frequent lightening in the eye which is very rare and forbodes a powerful storm. The storm is 85 miles NE of Aruba, mercifully missing that island-however,Grenada was not so lucky.Dig this; 90% of all homes in Grenada have been destroyed. That is f*ckin' staggering.I havent heard reports of death tolls yet,but one can only imagine. All you folks who are always talking about praying might wanna fold your hands and get down on your knees.Ivan is heading towards Jamaica at about 17mph.This is one rouge elephant hurricane,I hope it doesnt hit Florida,y'all have had enough lately. For some reason for the last couple of days a voice in my head has been saying "psssssssssst-Ivan in Texas man",but its probably just one of them damn voices again that always cock with me,reckon I shoulda never cussed that damn ouigi board spirit that time.Oh,did I mention Ivan is full of hail?

There is no Category 6. Ivan became a 5 (155-mph wind or more) for a while, I think it's back to a 4 now. 90% of the homes in Grenada have been damaged and at least 15 people are dead, probably more.

The projected path I saw on my weather site has it making it's way straight up the middle of FL and still toting winds on 115 kts as it crosses the middle of the state. My poor old 82 year old uncle lives in Orlando, and my dad in Dade City. I bet I see my dad again, with wind speed like that....

Living in the Tampa Bay area the last thing we need is another Hurricane, but it comes with the territory living in Florida. There are still many areas here which are still underwater from Frances. I lost about half the tiles off my roof during Frances and part of my pool cage.

Ivan looks like a very bad one as it's up to a Category 5 and they're already starting to evacuate the Key's of Florida. I hate to see what's going to happen to Jamaica as it's my favorite vacation spot. They measured some winds up to 210mph in Ivan and sustained winds at 180mph. Hopefully going through Cuba will weaken it a little.

It's way too early to tell where exactly Ivan will go as it could change several times. We will not know until around Sunday where exactly it is headed as far as our area goes.

This looks like it will be the strongest Hurricane to hit Florida since Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and that totally devastated parts of Miami. I went through a Cat 5 in 1969 up along the Miss. Gulf Coast with Hurricane Camille and they're no fun indeed. I was only 12 at that time.

This Hurricane already killed 15 people in Grenada and I hate to think of what it's going to do to Jamaica. Everyone around here stay safe!

It probably is the CIA behind it; take a look at nhc.noaa.gov there is Storm Ten out in the Atlantic, if it keeps coming, you may get some days off. You will also see New York traffic all over Jersey trying to get out of the way, we'll be the rude ones jumping out of our cars at the gas stations, grabbing those pumps and trying to fill it up while the nice polite attendants try to say, New Jersey is all full serve as we yell and scream shut up and give me that handle I have no time for this......We'll also be hungry and probably eat up most the food at the fast food stores, and buy up all the batteries at the convenience stores, and we'll definitely empty out the atm's of all their cash. Now do ya really want them days off that bad?

Gina is being followed by CIA men with weather-controlling machines? This would be a bad James Bond plot if we had the special effects budget.
