ABBstillrockin', just start with their first album, Shake Your MOney Maker. They are a fantastic band. If you'd like, PM me and I can send you a rockin' set from '96 in Vegas with Warren and Allen sitting in for a bunch of songs. |

here are the words to "She Talks to angels" i'm 75% sure you've heard it if you ever listen to the radio....
She never mentions the word addiction
In certain company
Yes, she'll tell you she's an orphan
After you meet her family
She paints her eyes as black as night now
She pulls those shades down tight
She gives a smile when the pain comes
The pain gonna' make everything alright
Says she talks to angels
They call her out by her name
Oh yeah, she talks to angels
Says they call her out by her name
She keeps a lock of hair in her pocket
She wears a cross around her neck
Yes the hair is from a little boy
And the cross from someone she has not met
Not yet
(Repeat Chorus)
She don't know no lovers
None that I've ever seen
And to her that means nothing
But to me it means, means everything
The newest version of "Hard to handle" is probably the black crowes, they made it a big hit - but the Dead and a bunch of others have always covered it.
hope that helps. ____________________ You make me wanna wake up in the moring

Chuck Leavell plays on the Black Crowes first album...for those that don't know.
I'm not a real big Crowes fan. I don't have any of their stuff and haven't really shed a tear for them not getting back together. But I do know a lot of people would like it, so I guess I hope it happens someday....

The Black Crowes were an excellent band!
It's kinda funny how Chris never seems to be satisfied in his current skin!
Moving from band to band to band....kinda seems silly!
I thought that NEM was starting to find their groove....at least live!
I don't know....maybe you have to be a moody rockstar to understand! ____________________

man, i used to love the black crowes but saw them back in '94 when Chris was still all drugged up...he sang with his back to the crowd the whole time, pissed me off....shitty show.
but, i still like them. couldnt care less if they got back together, still another "brothers in arms" type deal i guess.... ____________________ You make me wanna wake up in the moring

Like a previous post said, can't go wrong with the first 3 records.
Shake Your Moneymaker has a lot of catchy songs on it, and at least 5 songs that were on the radio. (Hard to Handle, She Talks to Angels, Seeing Things for First Time, Jealous Again, Twice As Hard) I like every song on this CD.
The second CD, Southern Harmony and the Musical Companion has some of the most rocking guitar solos I've heard, courtesy of Marc Ford, currently an Innocent Criminal in Ben Harper's Band. You heard Remedy and Thorn in My Pride on the radio. Sometimes Salvation, My Morning Song and No Speak No Slave are other great songs on this CD. I like every song on this CD with the exception of the Bob Marley cover of Time Will Tell. I prefer Marley's version much more.
The 3rd CD, Amorica was when they were getting into their "Hippie" realm, with the Further Fest crowd and such. This along with Southern Harmony are typically favorites for the hardcore Crowe fan. There are some fantastic tracks on here like Cursed Diamond, High Head Blues, Gone, and pretty much every other song on here.
There's also a greatest hits compilation that has cuts from their first 5 cds, that was compiled before Lions was released. To me, all the albums are great. ____________________

as has been said, that story is too old to hold any credibility and New Earth Mud has already come and gone since then. it looks like Chris and Rich are in talks, however, i don't see a full blown Black Crowes reunion happening. it is more likely that a new Chris and Rich Robinson project will arise with new songs and potentially have them not even revisit old Crowes songs. both of them want to "move on" from their past. ____________________ ~ Mike D ~

Black Crowes = classic rock-oriented band with Southern influences, led by the Robinson brothers (Chris on vocals, Rich on guitar), known to jam with Gov't Mule sometimes, haven't played together in a few years. Singer looks like hippie Jesus.
Counting Crows = had a big hit about in the mid-90s with Mr. Jones, very very popular on the college scene, play a kind of sad, nuanced modern rock. Singer is a white guy with big-time dreads. ____________________ http://www.tylersmusicroom.org |

Marley, they played together at the Jammys this year, although it was with the Mule. In any event, they did a great performance of Sometimes Salvation with Eddie Harsch on the keys, also a memeber of the Black Crowes, and of course Andy Hess who is also a former member of the Crowes. I say bring them back, more more more. |

i dont mind the Counting Crowes either...."murder of one" is a good tune, i play it a lot on the jukebox when i see it...."August and Everything after" didnt stink....
after that with "American Girls" the Counting Crowes got a little too formulated and drone for me ....
