Are you ever going to reoffer any of the freebies you've taken?

What do you mean announced later? I did a little look back and don't
see where ever offer up anything you say will. You know, well I guess
you don't know but everything here is based on the honor system.
By you saying one thing and doing another you are depriving the ones
that are thinking you are going to be re-offering. That's just wrong and
dishonest!

true i have been hesitant to re offer anything, but let me explain:
1st of all this doesn't make me BAD OR DISHONEST asnybody says.
I 1st of all am new to all of this and i have a life that doesn't revolve around ABB or computers or whatever. so i do have things other than alot of you that takes up my time otherthan this crazy computer/internet.
but probably to my better explaination is that i'm afraid that because i do have a life other than this computer. that i won't be able to satisfy all of you hardcore abb fans or whatever by not meeting schedules or whatever.
i see alot of people on this site as those that are too easily to condemn or whatever if someone doesn't get something just right.
what i'm trying to say is CLAY or whoever is i will start to reoffer things but not just because you or anybody pressures me.
what i'm trying to say is try to be patient w/ me since i don't really know alot about all this and i really would like to.
but it seems hard when i don't spend all my time w/ computers or this website.
this is just my .02 cents
when i get this i will reoffer to anybody that wants it but it seems to me most people on this forum have an overabundance of shows and who knows what you want or don't.
THE bad man will now bow out and say adeu for now.

There is nothing wrong being shy about trading. We all were new at one time. I was sure my burner would not produce acceptable copies once I offered shows. But I DID NOT take offers from people and promise to reoffer knowing I did not plan to do so! Fact is, most burners will do just fine. If you follow the directions, close all programs while burning, etc.

Making excuses about most of us having alot of shows so you don't need to honor your promise is WRONG, no matter how you justify it.

I think you need to go to the McNichol site, and READ IT IN IT'S ENTIRETY!

As far as Clay's niche here, or anyone else's, I know that those of us who've been here awhile, are always ready to HELP new folks get started. You need a serious attitude check.

If you can't reoffer a show, don't take a freebie and promise to reoffer.

You say you don't know much about this site or computers, yet you have over 500 posts since you signed on in January.

That sounds like you spend a fair amount of time online and here.

As far as who knows who wants what, that is the whole point of offering shows.

I don't know who doesn't have 7/7/04, so I offered it for B&P.

Those that want it will post for it.

Pretty simple, huh?

Bottom line, don't take freebies.

B&P for your shows and let others take the slots to reoffer.

People offer the freebies for reoffer to seed new shows. That how they get circulated.
A few months ago I offered 4 or 5 freebies for reoffer only 1 was reoffered ( Thank you Randall)
As said before if you can't reoffer take the Bnp. We were all newbies at one time. PhotoRon put out the bait that hooked me and Clay helped feed my hobby.

If you're burnerless that's cool, just don't take the freebies for reoffer. There's plenty of BnPs out there to make one hell of a collection.

When I first started trading here i was a bit "intimidated" by the very professional way that most things are done..I had been trading at a different site with people who had gotten on my nerves for a number of reasons....I had traded a bit with Jim benjamin (well Jim mostly hooked me up, but I think I did get a him a Jack Johnson show somewhere in there,,,lol) at Dereks site, along with a couple of other people before I came over here.....It took me probably a hundred shows (and Im not exagerating) before I didn't at least pop the discs in and scan trough a couple of tracks to make sure things sounded ok....I understand anyone's apprehension about a badly burned show going out....I just started doing things slowly and became more comfortable with my equipment, and everyone here....Anyway, I have a bunch of Floyd to burn....That my 2 cents...As for taking a freebie..I always thought that even if you weren't asked, you always offered at least one back up...If you can't, then the B+P is just as simple.....Steve

The idea behind people offering freebies with a re-offer stipulation is to have the recipient re-offer them right away in order to keep the shows circulating. I always thought that was a farily obvious concept but if it wasn't, well at least now you know. As Clay said this trading community operates on the honor system and when it looks like someone is taking advantge of that (not by making one mistake but by showing a certain pattern of behavior), others are going to take exception to it. If you don't have time to do the re-offers that's fine, but then don't take the freebies. Simple as that.

BTW, I see you have over 500 posts in the last 210 days. That averages to better than 2 posts per day. Kinda makes your statements about not having time to be on the computer/site and not knowing how things work ring a little hollow, IMO.
