Thanks BigDave.....I looked at about 15 Strats the day I bought this one and the color just got me......

I'm not on this site that much, but I've read a lot of your posts and seen some of your basses....and someday I'd like to meet up with you and jam for a few.

Take care

I'll do the best I can to set intonation with the stock bridge. If all else fails, Fender makes a four saddle replacement bridge for strings through the body type bridges like the early 50's P basses have.
Look at Wilkinson Bass Bridges, WB2V here:

Here's the one I'm talkin' about..

I hear ya about the bridge on that beauty. I've spent a LOT of time trying to set the intonation on those darned things. But...if that's what the customer had....and they didn't want to swap out another bridge....oh well! Gotta do what THEY want.

Just swapping for the Wilkinson saddles can make it easier.

I agree...but if they don't wanna and they want their bass setup...oh well. What can ya do? They usually come back when the darn thing starts sounding sloppy. Then...they'll want to swap. But until then.....

I actually checked intonation on the bass when I got it home yesterday and it wasn't too bad, which really surprised me. I played it at church and all I can tell you is this bass has the true Precision sound and has balls to boot! I'm lovin' it for now!

Years ago I was a P Bass guy, then went to Jazz Bass. Now I am just a Fender guy. Gimme one of each!

1986 MIJ Squier Telecaster and a Dillion DL600GT

I also have a Peavey Delta Blues 115, Dunlop Crybaby Classic, and a Blueridge BR40.
I'm thinking about selling all the guitars around christmas and getting a Gibson Les Paul Classic in Honey Burst.

Not really sure about the tele, supposed to be a Fender body and the neck was replaced with a Silvertone.....The strat is a Hohner Rockwood Pro & it's as close to a third arm as I'll ever come...

heh heh Dave ! I'm hiding it !

the faux tele...it was worth the price I paid for it just to have the body. Pretty good mate to the LP. I'm sure it'll need a set of pups, and I know just the guy !
Haven't plugged it in yet...in a little while though.

Hai, ever thought about getting a Mighty Mite neck for the Tele? I have two and they are nice for the money. Allparts and Warmoth make nice necks too, but the MM neck is fairly inexpensive. Also, I have a source for Fender repro headstock decals. And there is always eBay. There are companies that part guitars out all the time. I see all kinds of reissue necks for sale fairly reasonable.

Yes sir. I mainly bought this faux tele for the body. Very nice front with binding on the edge. The guitar was $109.00.
The body is very nice. The neck feels a little cheesy so a new neck and tailpiece are probabaly gonna be some mods. Don't think I'll go as far as one of those "baseball bat" necks though. A few guys at work put them on their Fenders and they were uncomfortable to my hands.
Tele is low priority now, playing that LP is top priority !
This is the 3rd LP I've bought. This one feels like it was built for me. My search is over !

picked this mexican beauty up off of ebay a couple of weeks ago. she really sings.

i've been on fender's web site but haven't been able to figure out what the color is. it's almost like a vintage gibson sunburst. the back is wine colored. anyone seen this color on a fender before?

oh yeah, one other thing - the finish is all natural and not a foto-flame!
