This book, The Fender Telecaster, http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/a/item.html?id=69435&item=2885239, by A.R. Duchossoir is a great resource for everything Tele.

It doesn't state exactly the range of years that the 3 bolt/micro-tilt necks were made. It does say that Leo Fender designed the mechanism while still retained as a consultant to CBS and he received a patent for it in 1970. Production started in 1971.

Today I pick up a tri-cone from a guy at work and will name it " Beacon", to go along with Elizabeth Taylor, Henry Gibson , Tele Savalas and Slobber.

Instead of a Beacon trip ( I think anyway) I bought this resonator. Republic tri-cone, actaully its shiney silver, photo lights etc give a different hue. This jobber is loud. I love it.

Cool almost mushroom cut-out headstock.

Love the Resonator. Is the neck round or square, wood or metal?

I'm new here so I'll play!

First up, AV52RI Tele, my goto guitar for the past 2-1/2 years. Switched out the pickups to Lollar Vintage Staggered - sweet sound for whether I'm doing blues, rock, or my current country gig.

Next up, a Hamer Duotone. I got this because I need some acoustic tones in the country band and I don't want to bring my Gibson acoustic out to the bars. This is a much easier plug & play solution and sounds acoustic enough in a band context.

Hamer Monaco with TVJones Classics. Killer old-school rock & roll tones. Someday I will play in a band to fully utilize it's tones.

BTW - this Gretsch Playboy is a killer amp!

Finally, the newest aquisition, 25th Anniversary Hamer Artist. This is quickly replacing the Tele as my #1.

Gotta show off the Silvertone Lap Steel:

All these go through classic Silverface Fenders, Princeton & (at gigs) Deluxe Reverb (old version of the pedalboard):

I talked to Mr. Martino last weekend - great gig at Blues Alley and they recorded their new CD over the weekend, very bluesy organ trio with new material.

So he confirmed the Gibson MArtino model is done, so I picked up one of the SG Special Faded for the everyday, take it on the subway rail so the MArtino can stay at home. Put in a Duncan 59 in the neck - full, thoaty but very clear.

The whole group with Soldano 2x12 cab

Another SG Special Faded... well, alright.

Mine has developed a bad case of scratchy pots. What do y'all use nowadays for cleaning the pots? Years ago, I had some kind of nasty stuff in a spray can which is long gone. I'm sure you can't buy that stuff no more.

I really think it's a quality guitar - if no frills.

I think you can get spray contact cleaner at Radio Shack.
