They realized the difference in "labor expenses"? They found out that they can't build barracks on the site where they can get the workers up after they already had done a 12 hour shift, feed them a bowl of noodles and a cup of tea, and put them back on the production line for for as long as needed. Oh, and they would still have to work their scheduled 12 hour shift.

Foxconn "villages" are basically concentration camps. Nets had to be erected around some of the "apartment buildings" in China since some workers decided suicide was better than working at Foxconn.

In a plant in India, people have died from toxins they were not told they were handling, and not given even basic
safety gear.

Many brand name pc makers use Foxconn motherboards. The ones that DO NOT are Dell, Asus, DFI, Samsung, MSI, and Gigabyte. They generally make their own boards.

I will not, and only once did, use a Foxconn motherboard to build a computer.

Thanks for the heads up OP , and Jerry for details on a brand and company to avoid. They sound evil. You mght want to think of another term "concentration camp" . I have run into flak here for using it.

Since HP, Apple, and others use their motherboards and other products, I'm hoping that the ones they sell on the market are "defective" ones that don't meet the exacting standards of the companies that try to find products that cost bare minimum to get the job done, and go obsolete in about 2 years.

I built the computer I'm on now about 2004. Quad core AMD FX processor, 10 gigs RAM, 500 gig Hard Drive.
Only had to replace a couple of cooling fans and a video card. It's gone through XP, Win 7, Win8, and now Win10. I've had no problems at all with it.
I do refurbish donated computers for charities like Jacob's Wish and I have constant problems updating name brand computers due to lack of them being "future proofed" with updated drivers and bios. Some cannot even be upgraded more than one OS level.

I also have on hand a 6 core AMD FX, two 8 core AMD FX, and a new Ryzen 7 Quad core unit I have built over the past few years. (A couple of those are built for heavy gaming.)
