Charlie Waller of the Country Gentlemen. Anything they did was good. There are about 20 live shows on http://tela.sugarmegs.org/alpha/c.html and a lot on YouTube.

Musicians:

Charlie Waller (Guitar, lead vocals)
Bill Emerson (Banjo, vocals)
Doyle Lawson (Mandolin, vocals)
Bill Yates (Bass, vocals)
Mike Auldridge (Dobro)
Ricky Skaggs (Fiddle)
Al Rogers (Drums)

For three part harmony

Lennon/McCartney/Harrison
cause when they sing they all sound like one

Helm/Manuel/Danko
cause when they sing they sound so different

Two diametrically opposed paths to the same target

Frank Sinatra when I'm in the mood. His 1966 Live at the Sands with Count Basie is really good

Gregg Allman, Jimi on All Along the Watchtower. Whoever is singing Ventura Highway by America. Bobby Darin Beyond the Sea plus the drummer is great. Glen Frey and Don Henley are okay at times.

Van Morrison is nice on a Sunday morning.

Paul Rodgers as a few have mentioned. He is my all-time favorite.

Lou Gramm

Wilson Pickett on Hey Jude

Gregg of course

Neil Young

And Bruce Sprnigsteen

That would probably be in order.

Lots of favs among those mentioned but Linda Ronstadt may have had the most beautiful voice.

Agree that Jim Morrison is definitely in the mix.

Gregg. Seems like I appreciate him more (that being possible) as time goes on.

A lot of the names already mentioned here. For female vocalist, Bonnie Raitt, certainly.

One I haven't seen and wonder if y'all think belongs in this list - Chris Robinson. For what he did with the Crowes, I think he does. I like his CRB work, too.

I'm surprised no mentioned Steve Winwood. His age has taken a tiny toll though.
Also surprised I didn't see John Fogarty And again the age factor.
