I was so psyched when these live discs started coming out. I have all 6.
I have to say, imo, this tour was one of the best, with this line-up. Gregg was
healthy....Derek was getting into the groove.

The Fillmore West set has been ready to go for more than 10 years now. I think it was supposed to come out after Boston Common which came out in 2007, but then the Archival Series stopped. Looks like 4 shows in late January '71 with Hot Tuna! Jorma, Jack, Dickey, Berry, Duane and the others on one stage, oh my! I bet Berry and Dickey were in heaven as I believe the Airplane was a huge inspiration to them both from what I've read in the past.

Here's the set lists to those and the Erie 2005 gig and Fresno 1993 gig. Both of those in small theaters. Can't believe they're putting out another set from the 90's version of the band when they just put out Play All Night from '92 in the last few. Don't get me wrong I'm thankful for anything we get. I guess Warren is the only one to really step up in his already busy schedule and help with the Archives. For that I'm thankful too. It's great that a living band member has a large role in these and I know it'll be quality if Warren (and Levinson) is involved. Thankful for Kirk, et al for the past archives too.

Does the ABB have a full-time archivist these days? I know Levenson's invaluable as is Warren, but is there a David Lemieux in the organization? (lotta executive producers?!)

I think the answer is no as someone like David Lemieux has a very involved role. Speculating . . . but I doubt there's many actual employee's left of the band as there was in the end in 2014. Maybe only Bert and an attorney(s), now? I know I saw Bert, Kirk, and a man who works at the Big House on the side stage during Yeti's set at Wanee a few weeks ago. When I stopped at the Big House on the way home I saw the guy from the stage and mentioned I'd seen him up there during the set. He said Kirk hadn't been to a Wanee in years. I was surprised to hear that it had been so long but I also hadn't been myself in many years. Kirk was in that role of archivist but he is doing his own thing now with his photography and books. He hasn't been involved since around 2009-'10 or so from all I've read.

I don't think Kirk West and the ABB had a good split.

I've posted on here several times, if this band had good management their legacy could be up there with some of the greats. However they have dropped the ball in protecting the legacy of this band at every turn.

At least there seems to be some positive movement on archive releases.
