Greek Freak, 36 points, 13 assists, 11 rebounds
Nikola Jokic -- 30 points, 17 assists, 15 rebounds???? -- don't recall a game like that before -- Magic came to those two 7-footers last night --
in the same fashion it came to Magic himself going from point guard to center in Phila in the 6th game of the finals in 1980, his rookie year, when Kareem couldn't go
42 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists -- 14-of-14 free throws...... one of, if-not the greatest one-game performances Ever

this one was that unique too -- article said the two players "are the third opposing players to record 30-point triple-doubles in the same game in NBA history, joining Oscar Robertson and Richie Guerin in 1961, and Johnny Kerr and Dave DeBusschere in 1965" --

only these 2 were centers, making it even more unique
it enabled Giannis to surpass Kareem in Bucks history for triple-doubles
Nikola, gosh didn't know about his stats -- 11 career triple doubles -- five this season, including four since Jan. 27 -- had no idea he was going like that

finally, at the time Cousins was injured, he was averaging 25ppg, 12 reb, 5 assists -- had he ended season w/those #s, article said, he would've been 4th player in last 50 years w/those #s -- so enough please about him being chump change, he's a super-gifted center/forward & hopefully he comes back fully -- that's a tough injury for a big man to rehab from

it's no secret, to engage Tor in a dogfight down the stretch, it's gotta start w/D -- Al H said as much recently, & good comments in today's paper by Jaylen Brown as well about how to relocate previous game -- bench will be crucial, it was a big spark 1st half of season -- thinkin we'll shortly be back in front of Tor -- let's go boys, it's time to lock down on D starting tonite in Det, & take that same focus/mindset into MSG tmrw -- w/a W1

Jazz W11 -- Jae Crowder has found a home in Utah, averaging 14.7 ppg -- no surprise, considering (didn't know this) his dad Corey was on the 1991-92 team -- their former top pick Trey Burke had a big nite last nite for NY

Last night: Warriors 134 Clippers 127.

Steph Curry's line: 44 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds. Still the greatest shooter of all-time IMO; last night 8-11 from 3 point line, including one that was maybe five feet from the half court line!!

The Clippers did NOT roll over at ALL; the Warriors just could not shake them. Even with Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and J.J. Redick all gone, the Clippers are very competitive and have some good young talent. Dino Galinari playing well for one, DeAndre Jordan, Austin Rivers. and especially Lou Williams.

First off, anyone who says that Zaza Pachulia deliberately fell on Russell Westbrook's leg Saturday night is full of BS. I just watched the play 5 times on youtube. Westbrook came down on Pachulia's foot and that's what caused him to fall!!

What an ass-whuppin' delivered to OKC by Warriors. You could see the entire Warriors team was pumped and ready. It was only Feb 4th when I saw OKC score 41 points in the first quarter and thump us by 20. It would have been a BIG deal if we had gone 0-3 against OKC this year. That has never happened against any team in the Steve Kerr era. Durant and Green obviously particularly focused........everyone wanted this one BAD...........

I hear you and to be quite honest I thought the close-out on Kawhi Leonard last year in the playoffs was dirty. But when they start accusing Pachulia of things that are NOT dirty, like Saturday night's play with Westbrook, then they are losing all credibility. I have not seen the third incident.

can't remember who but the 3rd was someone else saying zaza tried to undercut them but they missed landing on his foot and avoided injury because of that

Yeah, but Houston was on the road and playing their third game in four nights. It happens.
Warriors also lost last night in Portland so Houston is still one game ahead of them in the Western Conference race.

Curry did not play last night (yet another ankle sprain but they don't think it's too serious, they are being wise and not taking any chances). Durant was spectacular of course (I know he had at least 40) but let me tell you something folks: Portland is NO joke and they could really make some noise come playoff time. I doubt anyone wants to play them. They are NOT just Lillard and McCollum; Terry Stotts is a good coach and they are tough defensively.

I should add: Besides Curry, the Warriors did not have Andre Igoudala, Jordan Bell, David West and Patrick McCaw. Still, this game was big because it was for #1 seed in the West and they just could not handle Portland.

Toronto also has the best home record in the NBA so not that surprising either. Broke the Rockets streak either way. Won me money. Toronto would have been on a 14 game streak if not getting robbed by refs in OT a couple of weeks ago.

It was a great game actually. Playoffs will be more fun this season than last I think.

That was our game ystrdy -- no Al, Jaylen, & it looks like Kyrie is going to take a few games to settle down the knee discmfrt -- same pucks, no Patrice or Marchand right now, Backes just back, McAvoy ....

'did Lakiz dig too deep a hole' 1st 1/2....they're most improved hands down -- IT doing great 6th-man things & hopefully a big-hearted Magic & Lakers will sign Isaiah this summer

Tor & Jazz the two hottest right now, & Prtlnd also as you pointed out Rob -- Jazz 18-of-20, yet still just barely in playoffs -- tough place to do biz, west conf....houston etc

Celts might just go into 'prepare for playoffs' mode instead of 'win 1st place' mode down the stretch, & far from tanking, It'd Be A Sensible Thing To Do -- they wouldn't be trying any less hard, not in the stretch run anyway -- we're still right there w/Tor, & Both Want To Avoid Phila
we can't let it all depend on Kyrie, ie as Kyrie goes so go Celts -- if we can win div I think we should, shortmanned or no -- Tor probably has injuries too -- crank we must, Let's go Celts

Toronto takes down the Pacers to continue to pull away in the East. 5 games up on 2nd place Boston. Every guy on that team is clicking.

Our teams are likely to meet in the Eastern Finals, Stephen.

"Non NBA Proud Dad side note"

My son and his team have been absolutely kicking ass this season. They are 15 but play up in age against 17 year olds. Undefeated so far and have picked up Gold in 3 different tournaments. Highest level of competition (AAA) and they excel even up in age. Impressive. Keith worked hard to make the team and he has been playing very well. Sunk 10 3-pointers in one game - 8 in a row. Pretty good for a kid that they love because of his ability to pass and control an offence. Thanks for the Proud Papa moment. LOL - Gotta brag when it's your kid.

NBA - NCAA - My Son - It is basketball Heaven right now.

Just thought I'd give this thread a bump by noting that I watched this game last night and if anyone thinks that LeBron James is not still the most dominant player in the NBA...........I would beg to argue with you.

LeBron simply dominated this game and willed his team to victory.........a team that was missing it's head coach and 5 players. 35 points, 17 assists, 7 rebounds and ZERO turnovers. One announcer said it was an NBA record: Most assists without a single turnover in NBA history. Astonishing performance.

He's an animal -- with all his celebrity etc he still plays virtually every game like it's his last
No Turnovers among those numbers?? as you said an astonishing performance & I too feel he's the most dominant out there & should be mentioned before Harden and Westbrook, & in same breath as MJ & Oscar Robertson, Bird & Magic -- he's a Stockton/Malone hybrid, one of the best to ever come along
now that Kevin Love is back, & w/their coach regrouping, Cavs could be bad news again
Let's go Celts

Our Team's Got Heart!
after that win Fri in Portland, and again today in Sac....word, no Kyrie makes how deep we can go in playoffs, open to debate -- but what's not to love about our guys -- hopefully you're right James & we play Tor in conf. finals -- get back soon Kyrie & Jaylen

be interesting to see what kinda tussle Jazz can give Warriors tonight Rob -- no Curry stinks for GSW -- Burks & Neto, the guards I thought would come to the fore for Utah, have vanished -- they're going with oft-injured former top lottery pick Dante Exum
It's all green, let's go Celts

No Kyrie, no Marcus S, no Al at times, Marcus M banged up, into the teeth of a west coast trip -- we're all world in hoops heart&soul
......MAYb we can retain our conf. title -- it all depends on tmrw nite -- it's no matter tho, no one is better than us

Phila & Cleve were coming on big time, a crummy break for Sixiz tho w/Embiid's bad eye injury -- however look what we've done banged up, + Mr. Fultz is back -- same Cleve, LeBron is 5 times as effective w/Love on the floor, now Kevin is out again

His surgery they're saying went fine -- Celts fans fervently hope Isaiah Thomas doesn't have the same sort of problem that derailed Bo Jackson's career, also Cam Neely's -- C's fans love you bro, best of luck w/the rehab

76ers/Cavs last night was epic(I hate the overuse of that word...but this was the real deal).

Lebron continued his dominant MVP season almost winning the game after being down by 30 at the half.Another triple double along with his 44 points.
They fell a few points short of winning.

Philly is so much fun to watch.Simmons is a no brainer rookie of the year.He will be MVP in the next few years.
Dr. J was correct...heís a once in a lifetime player...heís an extension of the skills Lebron brought to the game.
Once he learns to shoot....wow!

Both these players,Lebron and Ben are special.wow.

Agree with everything 100%. Kind of sad because in view of how dominant LeBron is at both ends of the court he could be MVP every year. But there are other great players, James Harden has never won it, and unless I'm crazy Harden has a 99% chance of taking MVP this year. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it I'm saying they could give it to LeBron every year but they can't do that.

Ben Simmons? Yes, his skills have completely blown me away every single time I've watched Philly. Simmons just became the only rookie in the history of the NBA not named Oscar Robertson to get both 600 rebounds and 600 assists. And like dadof2 said..........once he finds himself a jumper......<OUCH> Hell, even without a jumper, no one can stop him driving to the hoop or passing. A certain fellow named Magic Johnson didn't have a jumper when he came into the league either and I don't remember it stopping him from dominating any games. Yes, Simmons reminds me a LOT of the Magic Man.

Let me throw in that we need to remember what an incredible basketball player Oscar Robertson was. That gets forgotten mostly because he came into the league in the early 60's and he played for Cincinnati and Milwaukee. Did win it all once after Kareem joined him in Milwaukee. Triple double threat every single time he stepped onto the court...............

Getting down to the final games. Not going to say the Pacers are gonna contend for a spot in the East finals but they might give the Cav's some fits in the first round. I doubt they will win that series, Indiana has no one that can guard LeBron.

The Pacers have won 48 games, that is an 18 point swing from what Vegas had them at, 30. This team has proved the Paul George trade was definitely beneficial for them. They were painful last year and struggling to barely get an 8th seed , now they are the 5th and a much better team. Kevin Pritchard has my vote for GM of the year.

on top of everything else Embiid looks like an alien w/that mask -- it's scary lookin!! He looks a little like the alien in the Outer Limits episode Second Chance --

not many teams will get 2nd chances against Phila -- they & Cleve are as big threats in East as Celts & Tor -- I put us 4th in that 4some as of right now --
not saying we'll lose but just wait til next year w/a full squad -- Marcus, Daniel Theis and Aron Baynes will be as key coming off the bench as Kyrie, Marcus & the H boys (Hayward/Horford) starting -- Terry, Jayson, Jaylen, Shane, Semi, the Dancing Bear et al

We'll render Mil Nil, let's go C's

As a Knicks fan itís tough for me to say this....but the celts are darn good.

I knew Brad was an incredible coach in college and when he started...a sure thing eventual hall of fame coach who was going to excel early...and he has...

But while they may not win a conference or championship, they play the right way and will get maximum effort and outcome.

And,they are fun to watch!

The Cavs are in deep **** .
Like Lebronís first stint with the Cavs its Lebron and the rest...not a winning formula.

Iím rooting for Philly...they are really fun

Harden still had too much on his shoulders last night and the Wolves are poorly coached.
KAT needs the ball in the post...as you all saw,all the TV guys covered the details on the problems offensively.
Capela has become a force.

Paul George was big last night and the Thunder were good....I still have my doubts about them but they have 2 stars and a former scoring machine...

Mitchell has an injury to his foot...unknown this morning if itís any big deal...heís special...great to see him and Simmons, two rookies look so good in the playoffs.

GAH-
REEEEEER!
It was one of Dave Zinkoff's most noted announcings at 6ers game, when the late great HAL GREER, who recently passed away, made a basket -- he, Chet Walker, Billy Cunningham, of course Wilt.....
after many years struggling, Sixers now are as great as those teams -- "Boston Is Dead" was the placard carried around their gym when they beat us in 1967 -- then we proved it was a fluke by bouncing them in '68 playoffs
RIP Hal Gah-Reeer
