Jaimoe is the last original member of the Allman Brothers Band performing, which is hard to process.

Last night he did the legacy proud with a fantastic show with his Jaimoe's Jasssz Band. Some thoughts on the best show I've heard them do, with video of their very moving "Ain't Wasting Time No More" > http://bit.ly/2sm9YCO

I'd love to see JJB release another studio album. Their first was I think the second best album ever released by an ABB member....along with Laid Back. That good.

Junior Mack played a new original with JJB at Wanee that signaled he still has great songs. I suspect he wants to release them on an album under his name.

Hoping to see these guys in Macon next month.

Love Jaimoe's band. Very tasty sound. Thanks for posting that vid. You can tell Jaimoe's appreciation for jazz in the drumming and the arrangement. Junior Mack is an excellent & fine guitar player - well versed in ABB tunes. He did a tune a while back called Drifting & Turning - very nice song.

Thanks for sharing Alan.

The crowd went crazy with every different guitar riff Jr Mack played in this song. My favorite moment of the song and whole show was when he started Jessica, and Kris Jensen immediately joined in. Sent a thrill to my brain!

Then again, this was one of the best shows I've seen them play, and I've seen them a lot. The continue to grow and expand their music every time I see them.

Mitch

Very nice Mr. Paul. Jaimoe is a treasure and continues to have that unmistakable Jaimoe style. Junior Mack's vocals certainly reminded me of Gregg and his tease of Midnight Rider, You Don't Love Me and Jessica were nice tips of his hat to Jaimoe's legacy along with the other ABB members.

Couple days ago I noticed Wipe the Windows, Check the oil, Dollar gas on YouTube, so I got out my old 1976 copy, put it on the turn table and played all four sides. Now I'm convinced NONE of the later lineups of the ABB could match the power and creativity of the original lineup ( listen to At Fillmore East and the live tracks on Eat A Peach and try to imagine a later lineup playing those songs any better!!) but with that said, this 1976 live album shows the Chuck and Lamar lineup really putting it down where the rubber meets the road and it is just a delight to focus on Jaimoe. His drumming is something else all the time. If you have your wires hooked up correctly, Jaimoe is on the left same as Gregg. Opposite side from Chuck's piano.

Well all 6 in that lineup left a trail of smoke but if you're going to really smile if you focus on what Jaimoe is doing.

That's very cool. I haven't listened to Renaissance Man in a while, but they're a really solid, tasteful band. And I couldn't help trying to keep track of all the song quotes in there. After a little bit of Jessica in the piano solo, Junior quotes from Whipping Post, Midnight Rider, Revival, the finale of Jessica, then leads full-band quotes of You Don't Love Me and the Jessica theme. That's pretty good for one song!

Check it out, and let me know if you can pick up how many Allman Brothers songs he quotes in his extended solo.

I 'think' I counted 5, I'm probably off.

Small setlist detail: I think "Dilemma" is one of my favorite "ABB related" original songs in recent years. Simply awesome. But i wish they didn't insert a 3 - 4 minutes drum solo in the middle of it.

Alan,
Just wanted to say I really do appreciate and look forward to your contributions on this site.
We are all very lucky that you have a genuine interest in the ABB.
