You couldn't have found a more inappropriate phrase, no?

I can understand some people's curiosity over the subject, in as much as some fans have a hunger for band trivia.

But let's beware overstepping the line between curiosity and having a right to know.

ABB was never like any other band, there was not wall between them and the audience. Their shows and music reflected the interplay between them and the audiences because they thrive on giving to and receiving back the love and energy from the audience. Dickey knew it and said it when he wrote Revival.

Don't think his resting place was ever announced publicly. Maybe in part because the family desires privacy due to the tragic nature
of his passing....One thing to go from natural causes, quite another to go from your own hand. Maybe the wounds are too raw this soon after. Hope maybe someday, whatever remains of Butch winds up at Rose Hill with the Brothers he shared so much of his life with and made musical history with....But that's ultimately the family's decision and not the fans, no matter how fitting it might seem.

RIP Butch, you were the heartbeat that drove it all....Duane made a great choice, among several.

porkchopbob started a thread about an interview with Gregg's friend Chank Middleton and Gregg's manager Michael Lehman that partially answers this. Lehman says, "We're going to be building a memorial wall so Butch can be a part of it, and the brothers are all going to return to Macon."

The last part is a little ambiguous, but I think the implication is that Butch will be commemorated at Rose Hill but won't be buried there. Lehman also said the walkway between Gregg's plot and Duane's will be removed in a few months and grass will be planted in its place so it will feel more like they will be next to each other. Gregg bought 10 plots altogether, and his and Duane's mother's ashes will also be buried by them.

I hate to say this but maybe there no longer is a body. Financial concerns sometimes lead to cremation.

Thanks for the interview link Marley, very interesting listen. A memorial wall to the band sounds like a great idea at Rose Hill given the history....Adds to the ABB legend and legacy and would be appreciated by fans for generations to come.

I think that most of the fans would like to see all the guys together again , at some point in the future , in Rose Hill .
The families could decide otherwise , as is their right to do so . A memorial wall does sound like a good idea , and
I'm sure it will be respectfully done . Despite the differences they may have shared over the years , the bonds of
brotherhood must still be strong amongst them , we may hope . I'm just thankful for everything that they gave us .

Is this to include all who have played with the band as members (Lamar, Woody, the Tolers, et al) and just who is this "his" he is including?

I quoted everything he said about it, so we'll have to wait and see. I doubt there's a specific design at this early stage. The idea of honoring all the band members over the years is a nice one, but I kind of doubt that's what will happen. More realistically I'm guessing they will honor the original members, since they're the ones who forged the ABB's connection to Rose Hill. I hope that includes the roadies as well.
