Jessica from the movie Field of Dreams when Kostner and James Earl Jones rambled down the highway in that orange bus

I went to the record store and bought Beginnings, then later EAP, and finally B&Sisters before finally finding it...

...and heard some other pretty good stuff in the process!

Riding in the back of my friend Ken's Firebird in 1972 (or was it a camaro)...listening to 8 trax, when he slid in a "new" tape and the glorious sounds of "Blue Sky" came pouring out of the speakers mounted in the deck beneath the glass in the back of his car. I was hooked "Wait, wait" I probably said "Who is this"?!.......

"Dreams" from the first album. Tony Glover had an excellent midnight-to-dawn program on a Mpls am station. He played it one night in late '69. I'd never heard anything like it, and was immediately hooked. Within the week I had the LP, and did my best to wear it out.

This spoiled me for virtually all other rock bands.

I forget. It was around '72 or so. I was 16.

and stoned quite often. I can sort of remember just hearing Duane and freakin' out and having to get anything on 8-track or vinyl that I could find. Everybody I hung with was hardcore into the brothers.

it's been pretty cool, ain't it?

My brother had borrowed AFE from a friend shortly after it had come out. My bro mentioned they had this exceptional guitarist. Put the record on and just hearing the opening track (Statesboro of course) had me completely convinced that he, the singer and this band were something special. As a side note my bro had also borrowed the Layla album at the same time so I was getting a double dose of this Duane Allman guy. God it was amazing!

Done Somebody Wrong from Fillmore.

Was on my way to class in college and walked past a doorway and it was playing. Kind of a "whoa" moment. Found out what group it was. Got done with classes that day and then listened to the entire album.

I was hooked.

summer 89. I was very into the who and stones tours that summer. I was 16 and worked the summer painting curbs. ( too long a story to explain). Some friends were talking about going to see the ABB who I didn't know anything beyond Ramblin Man which I didn't actually like at the time since I never listened to the whole thing.
The dreams set just came out and a friend had it but I was blown away by the Who shows that summer.
So it's a rainy day and we're not painting. The DJ on K Rock radio said something about the ABB at the beach that night and played blue sky in hopes the sun would come out. I was reeled in by the guitar work and the harmonizing. This song is great I thought and it was coming out of a crappy clock radio. I remember it like yesterday. No I did not get to the show that night.

I would devour the box set and then get Fillmore East followed by Eat A Peach that fall and the rest is history so to speak. Still Love the Who and Stones of course but I wish I got to see the ABB In 89.I would get my chance with the Seven Turns tour the next summer.

Bought Beginnings and first heard Don't Want You No More, ok that was good but then into It's Not My Cross To Bear, deep, dark, brooding, the voice of Gregg and guitar of Duane, then Berry, Dickey, Jamioe and Butch and boy I was hooked.
