It was still good in '89 - too synth heavy but still good - but by '90 this lineup rocked. Been listneing to 8-24-90 tonight and it crushes for the most part. Warren and Woody are amazing - plus late prime Betts. What a crazy return - I feel like they set an almost impossible standard from '69-'74 - then incredibly matched it for much of '89-14.

25 years ago today my first ABB show. The Seven Turns Tour. Couldn't believe they were back. Can't believe it's been 25 years. Seems to me like Dickey was really feeling good and determined to play well during this Blue Sky. Warren slides out a high energy precision solo as well. ABB 46 anniversary shows anyone?

I actually have a bootleg DVD of their 1989 show here in the Bay area @ Shoreline Amphitheater. How my buddy got a hold of this I'll never know...........it's off of the feed that goes to the video monitors live @ Shoreline.

Yes, it's good. Johnny Neel even gets lead vocals on one tune, and he could play.........both keyboards and harmonica. He adds some nice synthesizer fills to I'm No Angel, nice version of the tune. To be honest, Gregg's voice is just not there.............not even close to years later after he became sober. But he's still not bad. Dickey and Warren are smoking all over this thing.

I'm going to start another thread about a song in this show that was never officially released, an instrumental called Duane's Tune. GREAT stuff! I'm wondering now why this tune didn't make the cut for 1994's Where It All Begins.
