The two recent rulings probably got 3,000,000 to 6,000,000 additional racists and bigots off the couch to vote in the next election. That might be a conservative estimate.

The implication being, that millions of lazy, couch-riding bigots and racists are Republicans. Glad you said it and not me.

Maybe from now forward we should agree with anything you say - fact or fiction, reality or fantasy, serious or cynical.

You're truly morphing into your partner in conservatism & inaccuracy - the one & only muleman. It's been a long time coming. Congrats - mission accomplished.

It's pretty obvious to me that most racists and bigots already vote. Quite honestly in a crowded field it might help a couple candidates in the primaries. Although those attitudes will do only harm in the general election.

Here's a headline for you Alloak

Trump's rant about Mexican's motivates Hispanics to take a break from stealing and raping to vote Democrat.

When you factor in all the illegals that will sneak in and vote I figure that will outvote your redneck buddies.

I don't care about the black vote, the Hispanic vote, the women's vote, the gay vote. All I care about is the AMERICAN vote.

Interesting. Your original post indicated that you cared about the racist and bigot vote.

Those are already in the bag. After all, isn't that the GOP base?

That's only part of the base. You also need to include the corporate fat cats, Christian fundamentalists, anti-labor zealots, and an assortment of other politically paranoid extremists.

You forgot retired whites who sit around all day being brainwashed by Fox News. You know the most trusted news station for old bigoted white people.

That's certainly a viable explanation for Trump's surge in the polls among Republicans following his…um…"speech", as well as the incredibly tepid response by the other declared GOP candidates to it. Clearly those candidates are afraid to alienate the GOP base, regardless of their personal beliefs about what Trump has said and upon which he's doubled-down repeatedly.

I disagree. Trump has made many other statements on other topics in his speeches. Of course, you're going to zero in and fixate on the one he made about Mexican illegals if you don't like him.

X2

And to think that at this stage he's polling well in spite of his perpetual diarrhea of the mouth. The fact that he has that many people who support him says much of those who are followers & identify with whatever it is that they think he represents.

Wrong, alloak. Why don't you just Google "dumb things said by Donald Trump", and maybe it will educate you on the many other uninformed and moronic things Trump has said. It goes far beyond Mexican illegals as you referred.

By the way, alloak - Do you know if Trump still has his people investigating Obama's birth certificate? That went over well for Trump, didn't it?

I find the fact that Trump, like Palin before him, is not laughed out of the race by conservative voters and harassed and harangued by other GOP candidates very troublesome.

I really feel that way about Hilary also. Would love to hear a couple of tough, fresh voices with their feet planted firmly in the future supplant these old tired views and ways of doing political business, from each side.

Quite the opposite - it seems that other GOP candidates are either talking about what a great guy Trump is (Cruz, Christie) or they are not addressing it at all (Fiorina, et al) or their criticism is so weak (Jeb - "He's wrong", coming from a man with a Latina for a wife and Latino kids) as to be non-existent. Why would they do this, at the risk of alienating tens of millions of legal, registered Latino voters, if they weren't afraid of alienating the base? I agree with you - enough Bush and Clinton already.

Not according to the poster I responded to. His comment regarded the immigration issue and nothing more. Thus, my response addressed his opinion on that matter and nothing more. Other "moronic" statements Trump may have made have no bearing on the statement of rmack that I chose to respond to.

He won't have to be laughed out of the race. He'll fade, then drop out when he feels like he's lost his platform to spout off. That's what he's in it for, that and the attention.

IMO

Still doesn't speak well of the base or other candidates. Same for Hillary and the Dems. When people talk ignorant stuff why aren't they called out by their own? Have we all become so locked into to ideologies that we can no longer see the forest for the trees?

I disagree. Unless they are directly asked about Trump, why would they comment about him? Random mudslinging isn't an admirable trait to have in a leader, IMO.
