Saw another clip. Over the top reaction but someone should have taken her away before that happened. No excuse for him but the stage is not the place for drunk girl.

I agree that security clearly failed to do their job on this one, but as a professional musician who makes their living on stage, you'd think there would be enough self awareness there to recognize this was just a small woman bouncing around near you and that ignoring her would have been 1,000x more effective.

I can't imagine being at this show and expecting it to go on after that. Did the band keep playing?

Wow! Maybe he "shoulda got high". Doesn't seem like something a purported stoner would do at all!
And, yeah - I'll bet she stays off of stages that she's not performing on in the future!
With all the psychos out there it's hard to say the guy over-reacted ... did he? Where was the security crew?

No it is not even remotely hard to wonder if he overreacted. Are you kidding? Kind of why he was arrested. Because it is easy to not wonder.

Dimebag Darrell ... Frank Zappa ... even Nat King Cole. Nobody knows the intent of someone who walks onto a stage uninvited. Yeah, I think he over-reacted. I can say that with perfect 20/20 hindsight vision.

That is why most artists and venues have security. Someone messed up there, but there was no reason for his reaction.

Again it is no excuse as there is none.

But what the videos that I have seen don't show is how long she was there and how many times that she might have done it. Something must have sent him over the top.

Honestly can't believe that he didn't get his ass kicked.

Hmmm ... Marc Ford kicks a drunk interloper in the chest and received praise and a nickname. As for the stoner aspect, British studies show that folks who abuse "skunk" are more likely to experience psychosis. She might no longer be a fan, but the drunk bitch will at least ponder the repercussions for her actions in the future ... maybe.

In Mississippi, of all places! Under the circumstances, you'd almost expect a riot!

So you are OK with a woman being punched in the jaw, and knocked down on her a$$?, she could have been killed. that is not an example of how to deal with that situation. well maybe it is for you.

Keith Richard is also cited as a folk hero for clocking a stage rusher with a guitar.

Last week, after Kanye interrupted yet another awards presentation, the general consensus around here was that it would have been nice if someone like Keef had been the interruptee.

Double standard? What would Gloria Steinem say?

Nawww Pops I'm not for violence against women. Just making a couple of observations and giving an answer to your original question. If you get onstage with Afroman or in a cage with a gorilla, you might get hurt.

I just the video from another angle. Lady goes flying and lands on the edge of a small stage. She could have been badly hurt. Loose your temper for a spilt second ..... now only the attorneys win.

why couldn't he get security to remove her? he could have made his intentions clear to them somehow. this couldn't have been the first time someone got on stage during one of his performances.

Examples of men going after men on stage are not quite apples. If he is seeking help, then more power to him. Sounds like he sees his problem. That is what matters now. The punch was one thing, the fall could have killed or paralyzed. Sad moment in time, hopefully all will be well.

Well, the guy is a one-hit wonder anyway (crickets).

In the words of Mae West, "if you ain't in show business, keep your feet off the stage".

Yes, this was extreme and severe. I haven't seen much concern over the female fan in the press - no name, no status of health or injuries. My heart certainly goes out to her. Like someone else stated, it's a wonder there hadn't been a riot or retaliation. If I had been there and she were my daughter/sister/spouse/date ... don't know how bad I might've flipped. The incident could have certainly gotten a lot worse.

Point of current societal interest: couldn't help but notice the "fan" was brandishing her selfie-phone-cam. This takes self-absorption to a new high. If she was in video mode, that would have produced a very interesting clip. Wonder when/if we'll get to see that.

This whole episode should serve a lesson to promoters and venue owners. Keep uninvited guests off the stage! And to concert-goers: buying a ticket to a show doesn't grant you that type of access.

Uh I did not applaud Marc Ford or Keith nor did I think it was a consensus on a site with very litttle activity these days that Kanye should have been assaulted. In any event.

Afroman punched a female fan on stage during a concert and was charged with simple assault, police said.

Afroman, who is best known for his Grammy-nominated hit “Because I Got High,” was arrested Tuesday night and his show in Biloxi show was canceled. He was later released after posting $330 bond, said Biloxi Police Chief John Miller.

A video posted online showed a woman dancing next to Afroman as he was playing guitar and him punching her, knocking her off her feet.

The 40-year-old rapper, whose real name is Joseph Foreman, apologized on his Facebook page and later told TMZ that two women had been dancing on stage and a man had been heckling him throughout the show. He said he thought they had left the stage, and when someone bumped him, he thought it was the man.

“I thought it was that guy,” he said.

He said the early show during Mardi Gras gave him anxiety and he didn’t have time to eat dinner and “medicate, get right.”

“I had my frustrations to make a long story short,” he told TMZ.

Chase Taylor, who owns Kress Live where the rapper was performing, said the concert was stopped.

“Afroman was about five songs into his set when the incident occurred. We pulled the plug on him, and security met him at the bottom of the stage to escort him outside, where he was taken into custody,” Taylor said.

The camera angle from above is even more brutal. She falls on the drum riser hard.

I wonder what her injuries were -- that suckerpunch looks like it landed flush, then that hard fall
