Is there any tribute that Don Was is not involved in?

I am more impressed with the band/musicians for the Skynyrd tribute than the GA tribute.

At the very least maybe some of these songs will be played and sang well for the first time in years.

It should be entertaining...

I think Dickey deserves this type of tribute as well... I can imagine quite a few pickers that would answer the call for that!

Wortman puts on a great tribute style show with Don Was. The '70s Skynyrd is well worthy of this kind of treatment. Jason Isbell is a great pick and I be this turns out great. I'd love to see some of the same house bandmembers as the Gregg Tribute and hopefully Gregg doesn't attempt Freedbird again!

Just keep JVZ away from the microphone.

I thought Gregg didn't like the southern rock label, seems like he would pass on this opportunity to again lump the ABB and himself with that genre, but I can understand wanting to pay tribute to his contemporaries and perform with all these other great artists.

Dickey absolutely deserves one of these. Hopefully it happens in the near future

I believe the guy that "deserves" one of these tributes is Chuck Leavell. From the Brothers to the Black Crowes, Clapton to the Stones.

Chuck is the man.

Ed King, Artimus Pyle and Bob Burns should be invited, but probably will not.

Absolutely, his contribution to the Stones and their ability to keep putting on decent live shows is immeasurable.

I wonder too if these guys will be acknowledged in any meaningful way. I agree, probably not. Shame.

It'd be great to see Wayne Perkins invited to play. He did some session work on their early demos and was even asked to join the band at one point.

Exactly.

Looks like a great lineup though. Hope it's gonna be a DVD release!

In particular, Ed King. The ABB are not the only ones with a bunch of stubborn old men.

I'm mildly interested in this, but based upon the VIP prices, regular tix will be more than I care to pay. My orch ticket for the GA show was $250 w/ fees, and the VIPs were less than this show.

Still, if anyone is interested, there is a prixsale tomorrow at 10, code ROAD.

BTW, what the heck does Cheap Trick have to do w/ LS?

Would love to hear Gregg take a shot at Tuesday's Gone. I remember hearing it the first time and thought it was a new tune from Laid Back

I'd go for Gregg on "The Ballad of Curtis Loew". Warren on "You Got That Right".

Next week is my last week of work for the NYC Dept. of Education as I am retiring after 30 years. Over the next two months, I am making 7 trips around the country to see bands and/or cities. I bought a ticket in the back of the orchestra for this show as I have never been to Atlanta. This is a great line up and of course, you have the Fox Theatre. Very tempted to stay through the 15th to see Guided By Voices at Centerstage home of NWA wrestling for many years.

Anybody who has tips about things to do in Atlanta, please feel free to recommend. I am going to be staying near the Fox Theatre and I am a non-driver. Looking for places to party and let loose.

You need to stay at The Georgian Terrace which is right across the street from the Fox.... Great rooms and food in their restaurant
