Not that it matters here anymore, but I have to say that Tom Petty could teach bands how to take care of fans and minimize broker access. You pay $40, get the new cd and get a UNIQUE access code, not a widely-distributed free presale code. Several fans I know all got extremely good seats at MSG, Fenway Park and LA Forum. No Gold Package nonsense either, just great seats all under $200. |

The HCC is $50 to join (40 for a renewal). I have used it over the years w/ good success on tix. Since my tix in '08 were willcall, the club, unbeknownst to me, upgraded my seats from 26th row to 14th row. That was very cool!
To be fair, the 2014 presale on the ABB for around $20 got you a very good double CD, and there were unique access codes. |

Petty's the man!
I got 2nd for the Montréal show, and last year for The Heartbreakers run at the Beacon I got 8th row and loge....also got great seats for other Petty shows thru out the years.... HCC garantee you a seat. This year ABB pre-sale for the Beacon is a scam! ____________________ Music is the best.

The summer that the ABB opened for Petty, I got great seats for two shows from the HCC versus crap from the free Peach Corps sale. Some of the fan club sales from Petty's previous tour were cancelled and re done because some scalpers got a hold of the access code. I am not a big Tom Petty fan, but he certainly appreciates his fans.
Same thing for the Pearl Jam Ten club, where the front of the house always goes to the club and your seniority dictates what sets you get.
It's been a very long time since the ABB offered good seats to fans in their pre-sales.
To be fair, the ABB does make good seats readily available if you are willing to pay the $500 - $1500 for VIP seats. ____________________

When I joined HCC in 2008 I scored Row 1 tickets , when I renewed in 2010 I scored Row 3 tickets , this year I renewed and ended up with Row 2 tickets , with Steve Winwood like in 08 , can't wait .

A real hoot since neither Derek or Warren are apparently going to show up at any more ABB concerts. That Mountain Jam show was the most listless passionless performance ever. They did the bare bones minimum they could get away with. Why? Because they don't want ABB to overshadow their pet solo projects, I guess. I thought they were two pretty selfless people but I think I've been proven wrong, and to me, giving a half hearted performance is nothing more than stealing from the fans.
I guarantee you Tom Petty would never do that.

I'm reading this thread as I listen to the newly posted Mtn. Jam ABB performance on Youtube in a drop-down box. "Listless?"...thats laughable. They are currently scorching WP...Derek and Warren both took slide turns on Dreams. Smoking. All the negativity regarding the Hunter Mtn. show is unfounded. Best I've heard?, As good as '09,...probably not. Still pretty hot...shaky in a few places, but a pretty darn good show. And yeah, not as hot as TTB and/or Gov't Mule...guess what, those bands(particularly TTB) are in their prime. This is ABB's 45th year...those guys are old as hell. And with that said/considered...the ABB's Mountain Jam performance is pretty kick-ass. Alot of the whining/pissing and moaning should be checked at the door in lieu of gratitude and excitement for the VERY FEW remaining shows this band will perform. |
