If the shows are canceled, stub hub will honor full refunds. Then the scalpers who stuck us with twice or more over face value ticket prices will be obligated to take the loss. I lost big bucks on my airline ticket, alone. If it is rescheduled , then I have to attempt to sell them on the open market, which will be a hard sell at best. There is a lot going on here than most will admit. I think it's way more serious than Bronchitis. I never did buy into that story.

lol so who cares about everyone else right? you are the only important person here, you hope they cancel because you paid so much money, well what about the people that live in nyc? the people who still want to see an anniversary show? the people who also paid alot for tickets? who cares right?

If you live in new York, you may not have had the loss that many have had on hotel, and airlines. Since when is it wrong for people to try to recoup financial losses? A lot of people have been hurt in various ways over this. They hopefully will be playing in other cities, and you could go to see them in the city they will playing in, as easy as a lot of us arranged trips to your city to see them There is no reason to fight about this. We all are trying to find ways to curb the disappointment and hardships that have come from this.

I bought 10 sets of tickets, 8 shows this run. Cost me about $3500. I just started calling friends & inviting them. When they said "how much" I said "don't worry about it". Funny thing about money, I can always get more. I've never been afraid of work. And, when I get more, what happened before I set out to get this new money doesn't matter anymore. I hope they play since I have tickets to the first 2 & I have new money so it's a safe bet that I'll be at the other 2.

With all due respect, saying you hope they cancel is REALLY messed up. Period. You're wishing misfortune on thousands of people who want to see the shows. If someone cannot afford the risks inherent, one should not invest in something priced so dear.

The shows in the hinterlands aren't at all like Beacon shows, unless you're lucky enough to hit something like the Chicago Theatre shows last year, and even then, it's nothing like the Beacon, which is far more than the extra-sauce shows themselves. It's THE gathering of the tribe.

So - I'm only out a couple of nonrefundable plane tickets. We would've gone anyway, but there's the weather report. Instead, I'm working 3 days I didn't expect to work, which will make up for the tickets. (Cheap tickets I might add.)

Our gang sees this as a possible opportunity to get ANOTHER last shot at the Brothers at the Beacon. Folks who weren't going to be there this weekend are looooooookin' at their calendars, chitter-chatter pitter-patter plan plan plan.

Don't go openly hoping our dreams go unfulfilled. It's ungallant. Plus, I went last weekend, my baby & I were going this weekend. Don't go wishing' unhappiness on my baby, 'K?

XOXOXOX

We all will suffered some sort of loss as a result of the postponement, I'm sure Gregory is feeling it the most. I pray they don't cancel, I love the band and when they play the Beacon, magic happens. I stood inside there the last 2 weekends in awe (again).

So you were coming to NYC just for the Allmans? If I had those tickets to the the shows that were canceled I would still go to the city. It does suck that they are not playing, it's New York City! Some of the best food and music in the world! I go there every chance I get.

That's insane. It must be nice to have money be no issue at all, or maybe you're in debt?

I agree with Mulefool even if the show is canceled or postponed and you have travel plans and hotel arrangements for NYC just go anyway and explore the city. Unless you live close enough that it's easy to go there whenever you want.

The way I see it, the only way they flat out cancel is if Gregg cannot play anymore.

So you saying you hope they cancel is really like saying you hope Gregg does not recover and cannot play live anymore.

And that's messed up, man.

dude why would you go to a islanders game that's f*cked up . you know there is a real hockey team in new York called the new York rangers . as for the guy who wants shows canceled its pot luck when you go to see a band multiple nights either in one venue or if your traveling from place to place anything can go wrong musicians are human just like everyone else so sh*t happens I'm sure there are days you missed work due to you being sick it's the same thing with Gregg . this is his work and he became ill and it sucks but to just think about yourself and what you lost out of this is kind of fu*ked up . well there some more of my 2 cents

I can't believe how personal and vicious some of you can be. I post my opinion, and the comments that border on hate begin. Some have bragged about how easy it is for you to make lots of money, . This whole thing stinks, from the ticket scalping , to the lack of transparency from management. I'm sorry if my strong comment about wishing the shows were cancelled struck a nerve, I mean no disrespect to any of you. Someone insinuated that I wished Gregg ill-will. That is absurd. They are my favorite band of all time. I have been going to see them for 40 years. I have stayed in hotel rooms right next to the band members. I have seen them at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Raleigh NC, Cleveland, Columbus, Palm Beach, Legend Valley Ohio in 1978, Charleston WV in 1973 to name a few. I could tell personal stories about the band that would bring both joy and sorrow to most of you. This band has been a big hunk of my life. The Beacon was going to top it all off for me. This was the night I was supposed to be packing to fly out in the morning for the march 28th show. I need not describe the disappointment I'm feeling right now. If the shows are cancelled, it will clean the slate of this whole stinking mess, and maybe they can reschedule at MSG in the fall. Again, no disrespect to any of you

Joe beacon-----there's a few reasons I'm choosing to see the islanders over the rangers---
----I haven't been to an NHL game in years....
----tickets on stubhub are cheap....
----and rangers don't have a home game this weekend.....trust me---I'd rather go see the rangers play as I'm staying manhattan and it's easier to get to MSG than Nassau..
----you also haven't told me where the hookers are.....

Don't come here and start such a selfish thread and expect to not be flamed. This is the 2nd post you started on the topic. You wisely erased the other because you came off as even more self-centered.
These postponed shows were/are a major inconvenience for everyone holding a ticket, me included. I just don't see any reason to cry about it and hope that nobody else should enjoy the opportunity to see the Allman Brothers Band at the Beacon in 2014, just because it didn't work out for me. That is just wrong.

If/when Gregg gets well, I would bet these shows will be rescheduled. Due to Warren/Derek/Gregg's schedules, this may not happen until the fall. When it does, I will be there for any that I can possibly attend.
And I'm looking for tickets to the last 2 shows if anyone is just too disgusted to continue waiting for this "stinking mess" to play out.

And one more thing, F MSG. I'm hoping for 6 more Beacon shows in November.
LONG LIVE THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND.

Go see the Islanders and HAVE FUN!!!

I live outside DC and have not made a hockey game in two years because of the jacked up prices to see the Capitals.

I thought I could get good seats easy last year because of the lock out. No way.

This year? Ridiculous. More than the Redskins with far more games.

Right now I'm looking forward to the Nationals and still can't get a decent deal on opening day.

Go see some hockey and have a whole bunch of fun!

Seems you missed my point completely. I wasn't bragging about being able to make lots of money. I'm retired, I ran into burning buildings in NYC for 30 years to get retired & I can still bang nails with the best of them, that's how I get my money. You lost money on airfare, so what. Get a new paycheck & move on, never think about it again. It's gone, nothing you can do about it. Put the tickets up for sale if you can't make the show & don't think about it. The money you paid for them is gone, the money you get from selling them, even if it's not the full amount, will be like a windfall (new money). If I didn't have the money in the bank to back up the credit card I wouldn't have bought all those tickets. And by the time I got to the Beacon that was old news, I had replaced it with new money. Don't sweat the petty stuff.

I, too, have been going to ABB shows for a while. Gaelic Park in the Bronx, 7/13/72 was my first show.

While I do not necessarily agree with or endorse bubba105's money management style, he has more than adequately explained the concept of "sunk costs."
