...and the reason still has me ROTFLMAO.

Seriously. The fuktards who run our bankrupt postal service have decided that this is a great way to generate cash for the floundering USPS. "The cash-strapped United States Postal Service hopes to broaden the appeal of old-fashioned letter writing by issuing more stamps honoring pop-culture icons, a spokesman said. “The Postal Service is looking to bring more timely, relevant, contemporary subjects to stamps?.?.?. appealing to younger audiences,” spokesman Roy Betts told CNN. “It creates excitement.”"

Hahahahaha... I'm sending out a mass e-mail now to all my recipients stating that I will be composing hand written letters from now on to communicate because I can use a Jimi stamp! No more bill paying online, I'll go back to mailing a check, hope to Christ it gets there on time or doesn't get lost because I can send it with a Janis Joplin stamp! Oh... the excitement!!!

The best? A Steve Jobs stamp! One of the main players in helping to put an end to snail mail!

Another prime example of the gross ineptitude of our federal government. Sigh.......

I've actually collected first day of issue commemorative stamps since I was a teenager.

Think of what a letter stamped "First Day of Issue" addressed to Bobby McGee in Baton Rouge, La bearing a Janis Joplin stamp would be worth in a few years.
