The study's authors cautioned that more research was needed in order to prove a true causal link between diet sodas and Type 2 diabetes. "Information on beverage consumption was not updated during the follow-up, and dietary habits may have changed over time," they admitted in their report. "We cannot rule out that factors other than ASB [artificially sweetened beverages] are responsible for the association with diabetes."

JUst the chemicals alone is reason to stop.
I dont have many vices, but this is one of them. Stopped for about 2 weeks, but slid right back in.

It is all evil.

I laugh when I watch a person drink Diet drinks to watch their weight and then they drink six of them.

We try not to have it at home. When we do the kids will drink it non-stop till it is gone. I can be as bad. These large size drinks and refills in restaurants trains us to drink large amounts.

The best purchase we made was the water cooler in the kitchen. The whole family drinks lots of water.

I never drink soda. I always have a bottle of water with me. Probably drink 6 or 8 bottles of water a day. That and an occaisional iced tea is about it. Well, then there's the beer but that's a different story....

One of the best ways to lose weight very quickly is to eliminate all sugar drinks from your diet, especially sodas. I'm a strong believer that a lot of weight problems are caused by the drinks, not the food. Sodas and alocohol pack on major pounds.

When I needed to lose about 15-20 pounds, I only drank water, and it came off in just 4-weeks. Had to eliminate junk food which was pure hell, lol. But no beer or dark liquor. My new drink of choice was Vodka and water with a few lemons. It works.

I agree water is best. But they have no calories. You will not gain weight from diet soda no matter how many you drink. Of course if you drink a diet soda and eat a giant cheese cake then you will gain weight.

Alcohol is very high in calories. Even light beer is.

Full of chemicals that affect your body' vital organs causing all sorts of serious issues, one of which is weight control. People do not lose weight while drinking the stuff. It is much like a 'light" cigarette. Still packed full of chemicals.

It is all bad.

im enjoying a diet canada dry ginger ale right now!. diet soda, like anything else "in moderation" wont hurt ya.
