I know we have lots of members who are from the SF area as well as the ATL.

So who you got this weekend? Me being a lifelong Niner I canít wait for this game, but I know the Georgia dome is going to be a tough place to play. Hopefully (from my standpoint) we can take care of business, and get back to the Super Bowl itís been a long time coming.

On a side note its kind of Ironic my two favorite bands hail from these two areas as well. I wonder who would win Between the ABB and the Dead Duane would be pretty fast around the edge, but Jerry was a mean inside linebacker lol

Lifelong Saints fan here. If there is one team in the NFL that has given us fits over the history of my Pro-Football watching career, it is Atl. From "Big-Ben" w/Bartkowski, to Micheal Haynes' heartbreaking catch and run and all of the stuff in between......

I hate the Falcons

Go Niners!

As a Packers fan, I have no strong opinion towards either franchise. I guess I am kind of pulling for the Falcons because, even though they have been around since the mid-1960s, they still feel like an expansion team to me since they haven't had much success (1 Super Bowl appearance and only 5 division championships in 47 years). I like to think that in the NFL (as opposed to the market-driven NBA and owner-driven MLB), any team has a chance to make it. Plus, as a Packers fan, I can't root for a John Harbaugh-coached team (unless they are playing the Bears or Vikings).

If the Falcons are going to win, they can't let any leads evaporate like they did against the Seahawks, especially with the 49ers' explosive offense. They will need to figure out how to stop the 49ers option game much better than the Packers did last week. I think the 49ers will pull this one out, though, the Georgia Dome is far from a hostile atmosphere and the Falcons can mount a comeback, but never seem to play for 60 minutes.

You would root for the Lions over the Niners? That being said I want the Falcons to win cause I don't like the 49ers (unless it is against the Vikings, Bears, and Packers)

Rooting against the Lions...I mean, what's the point? (when not playing against the Packers or in games the Pack have a stake in, of course).

Actually, I would probably root for the Lions over the 49ers, just because it's been almost miserable watching how awful they have been the past 15 years (3 division championships since their last NFL title, which came 10 years before the Falcons' first season; no playoff wins since 1991), even though Jim Schwartz and his Lions come off as kind of jerks. Of course, I say that now, with the Lions comfortably perpetually neutered at the bottom of the NFC North, but if the Lions ever did get good again, I'd probably begin hating them more like the Vikings and Bears. So who knows?

I will be there I have been to every Falcons home game this year with my Mom, Dad and brother Bill. What a great season! After winning that crazy Seahawks game, we're playing with house money, so it's all good from here on out.

"the Georgia Dome is far from a hostile atmosphere"

There was a time when this was a valid criticism, but I think Falcons fans have really risen to the occasion this year and there is now a true home field advantage at the Georgia Dome.

At one point during the Seahawks game the crowd noise was measured at 117.8 decibels! I could feel the air pressure pushing on my eardrums, something I've never experienced at even the loudest concert.

Sounds like a hostile environment to me

Jim, where were you a few weeks ago during the Falcons epic 34-0 beatdown of the Giants? They could have used your help

That game is one of many reasons why this season was a success for the Falcons, regardless of what happens Sunday. Beating the defending Super Bowl champion 34-0 in your home stadium? Doesn''t get any better than that!

Surely was a let down for all of us Giants fans that day. Unfortunately it did not get any better the following Sunday in Baltimore.
However, that is history and your Falcons have to do "better than that" this week.
The Giants did do that last year...just saying

RobJohnson, I was screaming at my TV. You didn't hear me? I think I invented a few new cuss words....

and then the Ravens lit the Jints up the next week. Now, while the Giants did not show up for the Ravens game, I will say that Joe Flacco made some unbelievable passes, and his receivers made some amazing catches. I did not watch Baltimore much this year, but from what I have seen, Flacco can really pull some magic out of his hat at times.

Sorry Jim, I couldn't hear you screaming at your TV over the deafening hostile atmosphere at the Dome

Fair point, hastings. Congrats to the Giants for all their success over the years, they have accomplished a lot of things the Falcons haven't...at least not yet. Like any fan, I hope the Falcons win the Super Bowl, and if we can beat the 49ers, I like our chances against either the Pats or the Ravens.

Unlike some fans though, I don't consider my team's season a "failure" unless we win the championship. This has been a good year with a lot of special moments. I'm hoping for more, but this season has been a real gift for Falcons fans and nothing can undo that at this point.

I like that Rob, and may you be rewarded in person for your sportsmanship. It reminds me of how I felt about the Braves in '91 getting to the Series. Even though we lost, it was a spectacular series capping a remarkable year. To me, that was better than winning the Series in '95. Ah, it's been a lifetime of realistic Atlanta sports expectations.....

I haven't watched sports in several although I do follow the NFL albeit...loosely....

I watched both games last weekend and I have to say the Niners are the team....

That's how I feel about my teams. Although I don't enjoy seeing the Packers' defense get lit up in the playoffs, they still have had some great seasons lately and keep kicking the Bears around. Their Super Bowl season 2 years ago is probably the most satisfying season I will ever bear witness to. You always want your team to win it all, but I have been trying to teach my Yankee/Giant/Jets fan friends that a season is still a success even if you don't win it all. Jets fans don't ever want to hear that they made 2 straight AFC title games (after last season, it's hard to believe) and Yankee fans expect to win every year. They should just be thankful they are not Cleveland fans...

I will take the Falcons +4.5, they are beggin people to bet the money line on the Niners.

I will also take the Ravens +8, again, they have been looking forward to this game for a full year. Trust me, they are coming to play and they have a good team. Seems like they are begging you to play the money line on the Patriots too.

Who knows, should be some fun football this weekend and good times!

If they throw away a lead like they did last week, I might make up a few blue sentences for us to use.
If they blow it again, I invite everybody to Macon to catch a pigeon and release it inside the dome.

Looking forward to a great day of football. Bring it!! Because after football ends, for me, it is a long slog until baseball starts again. I'm a 2-sport fan. Hockey and hoops just don't send me.
