Wow, that's a letdown. Nothing against Cheryl or the Blind Boys, but it really doesn't thrill me.

I was going to go but don't think I'll put out the coin now. Maybe something good for New Years will pop up.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sheryl Crow and certainly wouldn't mind seeing Anders Osborne at the XMAS-jam but for me (if financially possible.....and that's a very big "if"!!!) it's only worth travelling so far and spending so much money if it's another two-nighter like in 2008. Plus getting VIP tickets for the pre-jam and hopefully the ABB headlining again.
Keeping my fingers crossed for 2013!

No Mule?

That's a deal-killer!

Would not mind seeing Cheese again; it's been a while, like 7-8 yrs. Oh well.

Most disappointing line up this year. In fact there hasn't been a line up worthy of going to since 2008. STI is just way to noodling for me and while I love Warren I would prefer to see Mule over WHB. I am cancelling my hotel reservation at the Renaissance as I will not be in attendance this year.

First year living up here in Asheville and was looking forward to the Xmas Jam but looking at the line-up, it just don't do for me. I was hoping for either TTB or Gregg Allman, maybe even the ABB. Not getting any of them, and on top of that, no Mule. Don't get me wrong I love WHB, but still the Mule needs to be making an apperarance. Very weak line-up this year.

I won't be going even though I live just 20 minutes away. Aside from the weak line-up I swore to myself I wouldn't go back because it's not a great venue and they oversell by at least 30-40% so not only is floor shoulder-to-shoulder, but every seat in the upper bowl is occupied and the concourse is also packed. It's a shame. I do have fun going to the "jam-by-day" events at the local clubs. I'd love to go to the pre-jam someday, but that's a tough ticket to score. Thankfully it is broadcast live on WNCW, 88.7 FM, and streamed on their website http://www.wncw.org.

I have never been to Xmas Jam, and keep saying I want to go one of these days, but that lineup won't do it.

I like String Cheese more than some on this board, but they seem like a strange fit for anything Warren related. To me, Govt Mule and String Cheese basically represent opposite ends of the jamband spectrum. Wasn't it Allen Woody who derisively called them "String Cheese Accident"? Hard to imagine Xmas Jam with SCI and no Mule.

Likewise, I respect Sheryl Crow as a songwriter and performer who has been around for a long time and created some good songs, but I just don't see her as an Xmas Jam headliner. Trombone Shorty is the man, but I don't think he is enough to make this the year I finally make it to Xmas Jam.

Anyone who is skipping this might want to consider coming to Atlanta for the Holiday Hootenanny on 12/16 instead. Col. Bruce Hampton, Grant Green, Papa Mali, Ike Stubblefield, Oteil Burbridge, and many more.

In my only experience last yr, I too found it uncomfortably crowded. We were barely able to grab seats at all. As long as the show runs, GA standing on the floor would have been horrible. To avoid standing that long, you have to stand in line for more than an hour to get a seat. Hope the Cheeseheads have fun though!

Is it true that every act is only going to be covering Cocker songs?

Bummer to read in some of the comments that the Civic Center at recent Jams was
uncomfortably crowded because too many tickets were sold. The venue itself is indeed "not great" but personally i didn't recall it being too full at the 2008 Jam but that edition wasn't officially sold out (although it arguably had the best line-up ever). So i guess those bad experiences were from the 2009-2011 editions?

The band that Sheryl had to tour 100 Miles From Memphis isnt a million miles from what Warren had for Man In Motion. There's some great youtubes out there, check them out.

Not saying you're wrong or anything, feel to ignore (as usual)
