The All Star game is a joke anyways , having John Scott in it and the captain makes it a bigger joke so why not .Maybe next year Shawn Thornton can be captain .

Why not Shawn Thornton? Without Thornton and Lucic do the Bruins win the cup?

Its a fan vote so if the fans want Scott there he should be there.

I'd rather see the meat and potatoes guys get some acknowledgement over the accused rapist.

I enjoyed the hell out of yesterday's games, much more entertaining tan wott we've seen for years.

I'm with my leafsfan friend, John Scott deserved to be there and he deserved the MVP.

Beautiful way to stick a middle finger in gary buttman's eye.

Read the essay JS wrote for the NHLPA's newsletter.

Great story about a hard working, smart guy.

Screw the talking heads who don't like him.

Personally, I have no problem with Scott. I just thought it was funny; he's scored five goals his whole career and he gets two in an All-Star game that Bettman and the NHL didn't want him to participate in.

Hey it was way better than The Pro Bowl on the same day.

They didnt want him in the game because he's one of the worst players in the league , fans did this to make the league look stupid which they succeeded , he's played in 11 games this year , the NHL will go back to ballots with no write ins and I don't blame them . Guess where John is today , in the minors , I have nothing against the guy but he should not be in an all star game .

Come on lighten up, this ain't the NFL, he showed up, played hard and scored two goals, not a bad day.

I hear next year the NHL is going to pile a metre of snow around the perimeter of the rink and players are going to have to look for pucks like we used to do back in the day.

Also going to use boots and a goalie stick propped up on Cdn tire aluminum nets. Players will be judged on their ability to put nets together with more points provided for lining the net up correctly around the frame.

The balloting system is on the league, and only the league. In typical Bettman-era fashion, they continue to blow every single opportunity to elevate their status as a league. SSDD.

If you get a chance and can get on the TSN site give the leafs lunch a listen.

Great stories, great characters (Jeff Oneil (Carolina) and Jamie MacClennan (Various teams as backup goalie)), not just leaf talk, not just hockey talk but great guys siting around the table chewing the fat. This is no Mike and Mike (schilling for the NFL) and or Dan Patrick (Old man safe broadcast)

http://www2.tsn.ca/podcasts/

On Wednesday's they do a bit called Jerry's Percentages. The intro disses Gary Bettman. Classic and changes weekly.

They say stuff no one says, The bits about life on the road and the bench as an NHLer are priceless.

Cheers

Three Canadian teams at the bottom of the Western Conference. Sad.

Hindsight verifying this -- Edmtn, Calgary, Wnpg & Leafs, all near-bottom w/47 pts -- but they're playing better than Habs -- tough freefall in Mont. -- meantime surfer Joe & SJ Shahks, & AMDucks are rounding back into form in sunny southern Cal

very big parity in league -- nothing will come easy for B's -- looking similar to last year -- battle battle battle, but no consistency/playoffs

most troubling part is stinking up Gahden this year -- hardly ever been below .500 at home this late in season b4 -- they should play the Subban kid tmrw against Buff (they also have 47) -- Rask needs rest, it's down-the-shitter time if he gets hurt/fatigued, just like Habs w/out Price -- let's go BROONZ

Top dogs ChiHawks beat Wash. last night -- we see both later this week -- at home

whatever Ails us at home needs to be cleaned up -- SJ have similar season -- only in contention from winning on the road -- top 3 teams on both coasts real similar records -- all in the sunny south, except for B's -- something is more than a little wrong if we can't douse lowly Flames

The Cap-pistols they are not, they're the Washington Bullets -- amazing season, if not a record pace -- likely finals preview last nite
let's go Broonz, March on boys

Good win last nite, tho ChiHawks were in travel vacuum & not their sharpest --
now, w/98 points Wash comes in tmrw night looking to celebrate 100 pt. plateau on our sheet, becoming 1 of earliest to attain it in their banner year blah blah

No
( love slingin all the hash)

But no -- we have our own 98, as in, say it Fifteen (15) times quick etc....
even if caps were fresh as a daisy, w/Milt in the house? it'd be crazy cool -- on his 98th birthday, to be at our best against the league's best --

yes Wash is coming in on their own back to back -- & mayb they'll have attained 100 nite b4 against NYR -- but, w/2 wins against the league's 2 best, it'd show Milt they Mean Business about playoffs this year --

5 teams w/80 points -- that's also B's after Caps game -- Rage Against The Machine did Battle for Los Angeles -- tmrw at 4 -- 2 of hottest in league along w/Wash & TB --

Anaheim is on a 23-4-2 streak -- no matter who wins Stanley Cup, the titlist won't have topped that level of play -- same token, Wash is no lock to go all the way -- I think NYR will show that 2nite -- great games all around

Joe Thornton, 36, league's top scorer w/46 points since Dec. 15 -- SJ I think will make West finals b4 AMDucks or LA -- like B's they missed playoffs last year & nothing is assured yet this year

we play Fla & TB next week -- that is our Stanley Cup -- Chris Kelly skated for 1st time this week -- let's go Bruuins -- black & gold, all the way

Ugly injury for PK Subban last night (for once he wasn't faking), sounds like he'll be ok though...

With the one point for the OT loss last night, they are now alone in 1st in the Atlantic (and tied for 2nd most points in the East with the Rangers).

The game in Tampa the other night was awesome, but they didn't seem to have much in the legs last night after the back-to-back wins road wins in FL on Mon/Tue. It is a bit odd how much better they are on the road (23-7-3) than at home (15-16-5).

Very odd.
Glad Gustafson is playing well so they can rest Tuukka as much as possible before the playoffs start

We got 4 crucial points in 2 hard-fought OT wins back-to-back last week in Fla.
Same 4 points are at stake in same scenario tonite>tmrw in Calif. -- by going into next week w/90 points we take driver's seat for 1st place in Atlantic

it's the only good outcome -- FOUR POINTS -- NYR only came w/in a disputed goal of doing it Wed nite>last nite -- we've thrived on the road this year -- we're better than they are dammit ( ) --

Yep, Gustavsson plays tonite, Tuukka tmrw -- let's go Bruins

I'm very interested to see what Vatrano adds to the offense.

Bruins are having a great season - happy for you guys. But the question is - Are the Bruins good or is everybody else terrible?

Would love an Original 6 Cup Final with Chicago and either Boston or NY.

Washington always figures out a way to blow it.

Tough to say. They can be erratic.
Take tonights 4-0 loss to the Ducks for example.

Last 10 games & the same thing as last year -- we can either win the division or miss out altogether -- suddenly Flyiz are right there & their game tonite w/NYI is all but a playoff game

-- 0-fer-left coast -- not a good sign -- We Did Not Play Bad -- 2 early goals to LA, then we played real good the rest of the game

NYR plays Fla. tonite -- B's need to watch that game, then figure out the 4 points we'll need against them Wed. & Thurs. -- we still have ChiHawks & St.L next month, plus a huge pre-playoff game with Wings -- ChiHawks have suddenly cooled off too

hopefully Rangiz help us out tonite -- let's go Broooonz

No worries about the Hawks. They are on auto pilot for a bit and then turn it on come playoff time. They have done it before. They play so much that they have to relax at some point.

Hope Buffalo screws over others and ends up with the 1st pick.
