Sawbres rebuilding and taking from their cues from their northern neighbour in Toronto are taking many backwards steps to hit the bottom and then blossom like an orchid at xmas.

A quatah of the way thru & the balance of power remains in the west -- eight teams w/31 or more points -- St.L w/best winning % & we have to play up to their mark tonite -- no complaints, leading the conf. is good, but the B's haven't yet, at this Very early time, played their best

Get Well Soon Nathan Horton -- doesn't look so good w/that shoulder tho -- Tyler Seguin lighting it up, no surprise there -- Joe T again playin like a top draft pick in SJ

cool to see the B's bumpin heads w/Det. in the realigned standings -- hopefully more games w/the Red Wings

Great early-season game & Good One To Get tonite, the BostonBroooonz

Haven't been around too much lately, but the Flyers are starting to turn around
Goaltending is actually good this year with a nice tandem of Mason and Emery

if they could only stay out of the damn penalty box ...

OPEN THE FLOODGATES
Sorry but this to me looks like a moneygrab -- when they saw how financially profitable the ex-NFL players' lawsuits were, the NHLers jumped right in
__________________________________________________

WASHINGTON (AP) Ten former National Hockey League players are claiming in a class-action lawsuit that the league hasn't done enough to protect players from concussions.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in federal court in Washington, seeks damages to be determined at trial. The players are also seeking court-approved medical monitoring for their brain trauma and/or injuries, which they blame on their NHL careers.

The suit comes just three months after the National Football League agreed to pay $765 million to settle lawsuits from thousands of former players who developed dementia or other concussion-related health problems.

The ex-hockey players claim that the NHL purposely concealed the risks of brain injuries faced by players, exposing them to unnecessary dangers.

A-ZOO
It's usually that when the B's come to town anyway, but now, with the suddenly-resurgent Habs thinking they can take first place from us, itss A BIG Zoo norta-da bor-dair tonite en Mont Royale....

we're rested, while Les Habs' redeye from Newark only arrived 2 a.m. today -- if we can be leading, or the game is tied, going into the 3rd period, I think we'll get them -- Les Legs will be understandably tired....

BAHHT -- puck fans know it's the Chi-Hawks' world -- they're playing like champs & if we were playing them Now in the finals, the outcome would be the same IMO -- Bruins-Habs is always the top game, but Chi-Hawks, & SJ, are the best so far -- Joe T & the Mighty Sharks, w/the best winning pctg in the league...

CMON BROONZ -- What a Treat For Puck Fans Tonight -- Les Fans will leave disappointed -- we do have the upper hand going in -- Bruins were resting, they were playing/traveling...

Well, my free tickets were for the Stars game Tuesday night that the Hawks lost 4-3. They out shot Dallas 50-16 and lost...

They were down 3-0, and I turned to my daughter and said 'They're not out of this'....... they played a great 2nd period and tied it 3-3. Then they lost on a penalty shot in the 3rd.

They are looking pretty good this year on offense, but the defense is worrying me a little.... it's a long season, let's hope the defense gets it together and the goaltending holds up.....

look at this -- all of a sudden those confounded Canuckles have played their way into the crowded West Conf upper echelon...

with the way they're going & w/how banged up we are at the moment (Chris Kelly, Loui Eriksson, Adam McQuaid and Dougie Hamilton, all out), we may not have enough to derail 'em tonite -- it stacks up as a 60 min power play, 6th man being canuckle-heads in stands -- they'll be like they were in 2011 finals -- normally B's fans'd say So What, we got Tuukka, but he may not play tonite either (flu)...
Let's go Brooonz -- 4 game sweep of Canadian provinces, now that'd be sweet

I feel for you Stephen. Lots of injuries for sure.

Wouldn't matter though as Chicago would/will take them out in 5 games right now.

Is the NHL going to suspend every player that makes a hit now with the threat of lawsuits? Thorton's siuspension was far too long especially when compared to some other hits that only get a few games. It was a cheap shot for sure and Thorton is too tough to have to resort to that but orpik wouldn't go. The trouble begins with the fact that Orpik or any other player shouldn't have to fight because they threw a clean check and destroyed a guy. Everytime there is a big hit now someone feels the need to go defend their player after the fact and fight. Hitting is part of the game. Keep your head up.

**Yet another injury for the Bruins -- Daniel Paille, out indefinitely -- I know you can't guess why...

WILMINGTON, Mass. -- Injuries continue to plague the Boston Bruins, as forward Daniel Paille is out indefinitely after suffering a concussion.

It's unclear when Paille suffered the head injury.

"Once he got evaluated by our trainers, it looked like concussion symptoms, so we sent him back home to get evaluated by our doctors," Julien said.

The Bruins are already without defensemen Adam McQuaid and Dougie Hamilton, both sidelined with lower-body injuries, along with forwards Chris Kelly (broken fibula) and Shawn Thornton, who is currently serving a 15-game suspension.

**out indefinitely, for an injury he doesn't know when it occurred - the slightest bump to the head, = out indefinitely
unless they're taking advantage of the concussion panic to take a break from the schedule
He got a concussion, only he didn't know he had a concussion -- yeah I'm pretty concussed by this BULL-SHIT! too
Do the helmets they wear do any good at all?????????? Obviously not -- they skate in suits of armor, and "concussions" have skyrocketed

**Someone should take steel elbow pads if not brass ca-knuckles to the idiots who tried to goad Milan Lucic into trouble when they were in Vancouver (his hometown) last Saturday -- these losers are even harrassing his family members & vandalizing their church -- ASS-HOLES

WILMINGTON, Mass. -- Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic says he was verbally and physically attacked at a nightclub in his hometown of Vancouver on Saturday night after the Bruins' 6-2 loss to the Canucks at Rogers Arena.

Lucic addressed the matter with media following the Bruins' practice Monday morning at Ristuccia Arena and said he's pursuing legal action. He is in contact with Vancouver police.

Lucic said that he was attacked twice, once outside the nightclub and again inside. It was the same person both times, and Lucic said he did not know the man.

"There was no reason for him to punch me, but he did and that's all I can really say right now," Lucic said.

A bystander shot video of the incident, which has gone viral online and shows Lucic engaged in a verbal argument with someone.

"It's something I'm not proud of, but it was part of an unprovoked attack on Saturday night where I was punched in the face on two separate occasions -- like I said, unprovoked," Lucic said.
"Like I said, I was a victim of the attack and did not engage in the attack, as you can see in the video. I showed restraint by not retaliating in a physical manner."

Lucic, Boston's top-line winger, also had some harsh comments about his hometown, as this isn't the first time he's had to deal with off-ice issues because he plays for the Bruins.

After Boston won the Stanley Cup by defeating the Canucks at Rogers Arena in 2011, Lucic's grandparents, parents and other family members were all harassed, he said, and the church his family belongs to was vandalized.

"That's one of the worst parts -- it's in my hometown -- and going back to the spray painting of the church and my grandparents, parents and family getting harassed during the finals against the Canucks in 2011, and now it's escalated to a point where I get attacked for minding my own business," he said.

I'm disgusted and outraged that it had to come to something like that. Other than being at Rogers Arena, no one will ever see me in downtown Vancouver ever again."

Suck it up buttercup. Lucic's brother was sitting in front of my boss for game 7. Brother went mental during game and was in folks faces about the Bruins winning it all. Security tossed him from arena due to his antics before game ended either to save his life or limit harassment of others.

Bruins style of play and the fact ref's put whistle's away after game 4 has left a bad taste in Canucks fans mouth. Many think GB orchestrated Boston winnning by letting bean towners bully Canucks.

Heading out to Granville for after game beverages to 4 am might not have been Lucic's best decision. The bar district in Vancouver on Granville is a rough place, full of idiots and MMA fans looking for a fight. Bars are open till 4 and as we all know no good comes staying out after 12.

Still only December and I hate to admit it, but this may be the year that the Blues go deep into the playoffs.

No real reason other than that's my gut feeling. So there.

Yes you could have something there -- that game last Sat. nite, the 6-5 SO win for St.L, must've been a Beauty -- & more of the same tonight as SJ plays Anaheim -- their chances are just as good as St.L's too -- but the Chi-Hawks still totally provin' it in that tough west. conf., Solid last night against a very good LA team

then outdoors tmrw as those two ancient/territorial foes Maple Leafs & Red Wings, dead-even at 45 pts., play in Mich. -- after the fans have gotten stoked watching The Gordie Howe Story tonite on CMBT!! (hehe) -- didn't even know there was such an animal (made 2013 the TV guide says) -- I know I'd be watchin' -- ...preparing me for the coming year's next biopic... -- "The Allman Brothers Story"!!! -- why do I think that'll only be good for laughs (I love the ABB)...probably Gordie's movie tonite too for that matter -- but I'd still be watchin' (hehe)

Well we'll need Gordie to come out of retirement to stoke our chances in the overall -- Pitts. is playing really good too & Dennis Seidenberg's absence for sure is going to be felt in the long haul if not before --

Bobby Orr is unequivocal about it in his new book & says it more than once -- he feels Gordie is the best who ever played -- & makes a good case for it at that -- in the end, it's just, Go Bruins -- halfway pt. of season so still a long way to go

LEAFS SUCK!!!!

Have to think that letting MacArthur got to make room for Clarkson (who some pointed out was a bad move) has hurt the locker room. Something is not right on this team.

Caryle attempts to get team rolling using Bernier he turns into a sieve so naturally you give the backup Reimer a chance and he turns into a sieve.

Has to be something wrong in the room.

They have not been the same since Bolland went down. Have faith though. Plenty of hockey left. Remember it could be worse. You could like the Sabres.

I do like the Sabres management hires though. Tim Murray is a great judge of talent and Patrick helping oversee operations is a great addition too. Not sure if Nolan will be brought back or if Murray immediately goes with Luke Richardson.

B's fans'd be grateful for a win this aftrn. -- even if it is the Flyiz -- same Chi-Hawks tonite up in Montreal
....yes we need help nowadays -- Pitts. has pulled away w/the conf. -- however, even Shawn Thornton's return -- & it's huge -- takes a back seat to the real Thornton -- Joe -- the guy is having another awesome season -- slowing down he is not & he's the player B's fans envisioned him being when we made him top overall pick

but he's the enemy tonite -- supposedly Loui Ericsson will also be returning, no Johnny Boychuk tho ("personal reasons" according to their website)
salvaging a small part of this trip w/a win against a top team like SJ would make the trip home a lot better for the B's -- YA B's, Let's Go Bruins
