It seems that the other thread has been closed off. I had hoped that we could hit 10000 posts but not meant to be I guess. Had considered it being called NHL Part Four Leafs Suck but keeping it family friendly.

You suck!!! Go Leafs Go!!!

I was just telling my kids the other day that the proper way to end the Cdn national Anthem is too state Go Leafs Go!!!!

I have done it for years (baseball games, football, wherever) but my kids are at that age (8 and 6) where they are starting to question some of their dad's actions.

Good times

There is hope for those kids. See right through Dad at an early age. And you raising them with a false sense of hope riding on those damn Leafs. Almost grounds for calling Children's Aid on you.

Yes Ron it was a good run.

I am sure they are turning out fine despite Da's influence. I can send along some Chicago/Buffalo hats and jersey if that will help.

Or if you want to keep a Canadian angle then I have a few Ottawa Senators shirts/jerseys that I can send along.

As long as they don't cheer for the Canucks I am good.

Oh and never riding on a motorcycle, hanging out with guys that don't have a job or car. Hanging out with guys with donut holes in their ears and covered in tatoo's, Not calling when they need a ride at anytime, etc. etc. etc.

Personally I would take all the draft picks but with what has happened to the team and the current state, they have to match it.

Calling all Jack's - hope he finds the new thread. A little concerned as it is not lie him to stay away so long. Hope all is well in Jack's world.

That was funny and somehow sad too. Nobody is better at bashing the Leafs than a Leafs fan.

Top paid player after Pekka Rinne (7 mil) I believe is around 4 mil (Legwand?)

I too would take the draft picks because it also includes your own draft picks. Who wouldn't want to have at least 2 picks in first round?

Fisher must be 4 million + also.

Some teams would jump at the picks but Nashville has to be careful that season ticket holders don't start walking. Guys like Weber and Nash are great players but have won nothing and proved nothing.

Buffalo years ago matched Edmonton's offer to Vanek. Had they passed and picked up the draft picks, all those upcoming young stars on Edmonton would now be Sabres. Easy to look back but I wasn't happen when Buffalo matched. Now any sane GM would trade Vanek for any one of those stars, let alone all of them.

Globe and Mail suggested that Nashville should match Flyers offer then trade Weber to highest bidder. Flyers picks are going to suck with Webber in thier lineup.

Picks will be in 24-30 range as Weber will make Flyers a juggernaut.

He wants to go to Detroit, San Jose and possibly Vancouver. Those teams should have some young proven assests that would help Nashville.

Didn't quite get it but they were saying that if they match then he can't be traded for a year and if Philly signs him then the same applies. Must be something in the collective bargaining agreement. Maybe I misunderstood but they discussed it for quite a while and trade wasn't an option.

Huge news, via TSN’s Darren Dreger — Rick Nash has been traded by the Blue Jackets to the Rangers.

Heading to Columbus is Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, Tim Erixon and a first-round pick.

New York had been considered the favorite to land Nash, but until now the two teams had been unable to agree on the package that would go to Columbus.

“If we do complete a trade, we’re trading out a 30 to 40 goal scorer,” Jackets GM Scott Howson said prior to the trade. “Defense is probably the strongest part of our team if we look at it today, so we’re looking to get some NHL forwards back first and foremost.”

Howson got his wish by acquiring two NHL forwards in Anisimov and Dubinsky. However, he was unable to pry the likes of Chris Kreider, Derek Stepan or Ryan McDonagh from Rangers GM Glen Sather.

Damn.....

A great deal for the Rangers. Sather's patience pays off.

Howson used to work for Sather and after that deal, he will be again soon. Nash had his hands tied as for the teams he would go to but that was a terrible deal for Columbus. GMs lose jobs for that. Great deal for the NYR.

It was a great deal for the Rangers but Howson had no real choice as Nash had demanded a trade and then limited who he would be willing to go to.

Hockey Lock Out Bump

Hate when these guys mess with the game and pools.

Hope all is well with our friend Jack. I noticed that he actually hasn't posted since well before the playoffs. Not like him at all. Hope he is just taking a break. I need his annual hockey pool donation.
