I basically gave up on prime time TV programing decades ago. I just couldnt take it anymore. It was...to my personal sensibilities...nothing but but programs filled with excesive violence, wayyy too much sexuality, so called comedies that were not in the least bit funny, stupidity like profesional wrestling, and these dumb "whos going to be the next "BIG SINGING STAR shows.

The only thing I would watch was sports and Northern Exposure

But a show has come along that I really like. It comes on at midnight on sundays here, and if it were on prime time I would watch it.

Its called "The Closer". A woman detective sort of in the "Columbo" mold...meaning "quirky"

Anyone else like it?

Well. I didnt know it had been around that long. I think that actress is very good in that part.

That's Kyra Sedgwick, Kevin Bacon's wife. She's hot and also a great actress. If you liked her in that. check out the movie Singles. Both she and Bridgit Fonda are smokin' and Matt "Touch Me I'm Dick" Dillon is hilarious. Great satire about the Seattle grunge scene in the early '90s.

Too bad you caught The Closer right as it is going off the air.

My wife really enjoys The Closer. It's entertaining and I like the characters.

The only prime time show I watch these days is Revenge. I love it!

My wife and I watch The Closer.

As a guilty pleasure I've been known to
watch Hillbilly Handfishin'...thereby clearing
the living room of all intelligent life.

Can't help myself, it's the only reality show that seems to contain some
actual reality

Don't watch it, but a gal we know from our neighborhood writes for the show. Which seemed a bit odd to me as we live in Atlanta. Thought it would have been a group that gathers in one locale, somewhere in California I presummed.

My wife like the Closer. We both like Fringe, Storage Wars, Top Shot, Pawn Stars, American Pickers, and believe it or not, she likes to watch Top Gear with me. (Occasionally I'll catch her sneaking a watch at Dr. Who over my shoulder.)

Awesome!....But you have to watch the British version, the one on the History Channel is a weak imitation.

Doesn't the British version use Jessica as their theme song?

It does indeed and has since it started in 1977.

The ABB version was used until 1999.

The Closer is one of my favorite shows and has been for several years now.
They will probably have a new season this summer. I guess you don't have DVR.
Too bad.

Last night I watched the premier of "Touch" with Kiefer Sutherland. I was impressed.
It has something of science fiction flavor to it, but I wouldn't label it sci-fi. It is the best
new show I've seen in a while. I love "Justified" too. They have some good shows now, but
I don't watch what they like to call "comedy". Just plain silly!

There are only three TV programs now running that I make an effort to watch on a regular basis:

The Closer. I'm from Georgia, and I don't know anyone who has an accent like the one Kyra Sedgwick uses in this show, but I just try to ignore that aspect. And I have realized that one of the things that has most hooked me on this show is the background music; the guitar is really tasty. (Anyone else notice that one of the detectives on this program used to portray Rizzo the mechanic on M*A*S*H?)

New Tricks. A BBC import shown on public TV. I'm in my 50s, and Amanda Redman as Detective Sandra Pullman is hot.

MI-5. Another BBC import (known as "Spooks" there) on public TV. Fast paced and intense. My favorite of the three shows I've listed here. Addictive!!
