Rocker accused of pharmacy theft before Mass. show
MANSFIELD, Mass., Mon Jul 11, 07:47 PM

A Massachusetts judge has increased bail for a rock band bassist accused of robbing prescription painkillers from a pharmacy just hours before a show.

Attleboro police say Coheed and Cambria bassist Michael Todd showed a Walgreens pharmacist a note on his phone Sunday afternoon, saying he had a bomb.

Police say the 30-year-old Todd of Anaheim, Calif., fled with six bottles of Oxycontin, taking a cab to the Comcast Center in Mansfield, where his band was to open for Soundgarden that night. He was arrested before the show, and the band played without him.

An Attleboro District Court judge on Monday increased bail from $10,000 cash to $25,000 cash, citing Todd's out-of-state address and criminal record, including a previous drug conviction.

Todd's attorney didn't immediately return a call for comment

I like these guys. I saw them a few years back at Mt. Jam and Warren sat in with them. They remind of Rush a little.

Jeez, ya think the guy could have scored from an audience member...without having to lift the whole store, as BHawk said!!

I saw them at the Christmas Jam a few years back. Did very little for me...

As I remember, I got up and went outside after a while.

Way to be there for your band.....NOT!

Dude, seriously, if it gets to the point that you have to steal to support your habit, it's time to get help.

He should have just went to Florida and paid a doctor for an Oxycontin script, that's what everyone else does.

Now some cop with connect the dots and discover that a string of robberies follows the tour. Not a bad plan as you leave town right after the show.

Agree with Dave. Guess some need help forced on them. The bomb threat part will not go over well in court I imagine.

Rob a pharmacy, then escape in a taxi. He must have been high to think that this is a good plan.
