Good going Brian

Thats a hell of a vertical jump they are asking for.. wow.

Weigh in tomorrow.. I am not expecting much with the big loss last week.
And I usually have a pretty good feel with these things now.

I did lose another knotch in the belt though. I will take that victory this week!

Good job Wharfy! Keep up the good work!

I had a good run today with a decent switchback climb. Off to the mountains for some snowboarding. The legs will get a good workout especially the outside of the thighs. Nothing like that burn while you're traversing across the slopes.

Here's to our being healthy, fit, and active. "Eat a peach for peace!"

Rested the last two days from running to regain some energy in my legs for the home stretch of training for my 13.1 on March 20, but I hit the gym:

45 minutes Tues - bicep, back/lats, abs
70 minutes Wed - chest, tricep, shoulders

Dealing with upper back/shoulder pain in the mornings the last few days that gets better throughout the day. I probably should have not gone to the gym, but by last night I felt fine and did mostly lower weights....I think another trip to the chiropractor is in my future.

Today it's heavy arms, shoulders, abs, and back, topped off with 45 minutes on the elliptical. Sweet.

Abs, arms, and legs today, topped off with 45 minutes on the bike. Weighed 221 yesterday! My original goal was 215, but I'm thinking 210 would be incredible. We'll see.

Go for it ratboy. 5Ks are fun, and that's the spirit they are run in. Yesterday I ran 2 miles, then 4 200s and 8 100s at three quarters speed. Today is a rest day!

This is right in my wheelhouse. If some of you remember when i first posted here it was mostly on healt issues and staying in shape. I posted the new food pyramid which now includes exercise for the first time. I am a workout freak, as is my wife Gina.
Wharfrat (love the name btw), sounds like your on a mission, and by the support your getting i deem you are a good man.
Keep it up.
Biggest factor in losing weight is eating breakfast, about 400-500 calories. When you eat breakfast (break-fast), which means just what it says. You fast while you sleep, break it when you wake.
If you do not eat breakfast your metabolism slows down to store energy, and you burn nothing, you can only gain.
400 calories for lunch, 500 calories for dinner, and around 400 calories in snacks all day. That and a regimented exercise program will get you where you want to be.
All of you, not just your friend Chuck should be doing this!
Be well!

Silvio

Exactly...
I wouldnt say weight loss is impossible without breakfast, but it would be damn hard.

I have a good mix of carbs and protein, so that helps as well.

At least its working for me.

There's a lot of folks staggering around at Wanee, so you won't stand out.

Got a nice yoga in yesterday. Today will be about a 4 1/2 mile run with a great switchback climb. Tomorrow is a rest day and then 7 miles on Friday.

Keep up the good work everyone. Even if you can't get the full workout you want in, doing something keeps you ahead.

The Road Goes On Forever!

Alive and well people! Still going strong with a decent mix of cardio and weights and a much improved diet. This has produced some nice changes. As I said previously, the weight loss isn't extreme but there are good changes happening all over the place. I've been weighing myself every 2 weeks but think I'm only going to do it once a month. I want to lose weight but more importantly I want to feel better so I'm not going to let the scale determine my attitude. I may not be losing weight at the rate I thought I would be but the pair of pants I've been wearing to work this week feel great and I wasn't able to say that 2 months ago. Things are working. Concentrate on the positive. Something is better than nothing!

Something is better than nothing. Ain't that the truth. Heavy chest, shoulders, and abs today, along with 45 minutes on the elliptical. I love these heavy days!
