Got 6 miles in yesterday morning. Chilly but relaxing. Went to the pool today to just play around and ended up swimming a mile non-stop. Just got in the zone and kept adding a few more laps. Finally said, only 6 more to go for a mile. Best part is I'm off the hook for a few months before I do another one!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. If I don't check in before, have a Merry Christmas! Cheers!

Merry Christmas back at 'ya. Supersets yesterday, cardio today. Think I'll hit the elliptical and rowing machine for a good long stretch. I love Christmas break!

Nice workout yesterday with my son, he's starting to get a little cut (for a 13 year old!). So glad he has learned to lift the right way and that he enjoys working out. Chest, back, shoulders and abs today. Ho Ho HO!

Right on Doug! We did our Xmas fun run yesterday: the "Up and Over" switchback run. Today will be the last swim of 2013 since the pools will be closed for maintenance after Christmas.

Congrats to all of the ABB Fitness Peachheads! Here's to being fit and having fun!

Great fitness day yesterday! Cardio at the gym, then my son and I went to the local middle school football field to play catch and catch punts. Lots of sunshine and good times. Topped off a very Merry Christmas for us. My daughter leaves tomorrow for Florida and the Disney College Showcse Soccer Tournament. Life is good!

Last workout for 2013. Did our 7 miler at a decent clip. Beautiful day out and it was great to enjoy the moment... plus burn off some of the festive treats and beverages I indulged in that last few days.

It's been a great 2013. Thanks to all who participate on this thread. Here's to being fit and empowered in 2014! Cheers!

Going for a little cardio this morning. Denched 280 again yesterday, felt great! KInd of chilly outside (22 degrees), think I'll go for a nice easy treadmill run at the gym. Happy New Year!

Started the new year with a 30 minute run through the neighborhood; no hurry, just took my time. Did 10 pull-ups on jr.'s swing set to finish. To top it off, after lunch I had a nice, hour long napů my favorite "workout"!

Good to see ya goldtop! Glad you're feeling better.

Back in the groove. Friday morning swim 1X500 free, 1X500 back, 1X500 free with pull buoy. Ran 5 miles at lunch with the switchback climb. Relax tonight!

Back to school today, and back to my after school routine. Heavy arms and abs today, with some jump rope for good measure. Gym is always crowded for about 6 weeks or so after the new year. Too bad more folks don't stick with it.

1800 yards in the pool today. It was crowded due to all the New Year's Resolutions folks. Hopefully some will stick with it.

Sticking with my regular routine of alternating weight training days with cardio days. This allows me to work out 45-60 minutes a day every day. I'm liking it, and my body seems to be holding up pretty well. Have reduced the high impact road runs for now. Life is good.

Good job Doug! 45-60 minutes a day puts you ahead of the curve big time!

Sawm 2000 yards today: 1 X 300 free, 1 X 1000 free with pull buoy, 1 X 700 free. One of my stronger workouts of late. Maybe all the Holiday fun and cheer has finally disolved itself and my body is cleansed... here's to starting over again!

Got my 2000 yards in the pool today. No frills. Just did my thing. Tomorrow is the Friday play swim and the long run (hopefully the %&^$#@& wind will have died down) at lunch. Then it's the weekend!

I think I'm going to seriously begin monitoring my food intake and see where that takes me. Will increase fruits and veggies, slack off the cookies, ice cream, and chips ( ). Think I'll give it six months and see what happens. Not really dieting, just eating smarter to go along with my exercise routine. Wish me luck!

2000 yards in the pool today. 1000 X freestyle, 1000 X freestyle with pull puoy. Not crowded and had a lane to myself.

Good point on the food intake Doug. The doctor is telling me to eat more fruits and veggies and watch the chips too! The important thing is to keep things under control and moderate. One thing that works for me is I brown bag my lunch most of the week: sandwich, fruit, and chips (smaller portion now!). Not only do I feel better in the afternoon, I save a bunch of money.

Finished off the week with 1300 in the pool this morning and a 40 minute run at lunch. Took it easy on both accounts.

I've been adding pullups after my runs. I'm up to 12. I'll add another in two months.

Enjoy the weekend. Here's to excercise and health!

Doing okay so far with the food intake, eating more fruit seems to really curb any hunger pangs. Great chest and back workout this morning, off to play some music this afternoon. Beautiful day here in North Texas! 72 degrees and sunny.

Been a good week so far. Got my runs and swims in as planned. Did 15 X 100 frees in the pool today. In the lanes next to mine were two swimmers who swam in college. One moved like a shark, the other like a torpedo. Very inspiring!

Friday run tomorrow! Cheers!

Joined Fit-24 today and got the first session in. Started with 45 minutes on the treadmill and then some light weight training. Starting slow on the weights. Feel good right now, nice and tranquil.

Back in marathon training mode. I'm signed up for Boston again.

I stepped up to 127 miles in January on my way toward a goal of 200+ in March. My long has been 17+. I'm hoping to do my first of five 20+ milers of this cycle on Sunday morning.

The hamstring and ankle are keeping me from playing very hard with the middle school basketball team I coach, but I cannot say that are holding back my marathon training.

I need to get back into my perfect pushups and pullups, to keep my upper body strength going while I marathon train.

Good job Tim! That's some serious mileage you're putting in.

Decided at the last minute to go to the pool today. Not one of my best efforts but I got my laps in and felt pretty good afterwards. Workouts before the Super Bowl are a good thing considering we'll be indulging in food and drink during the game.

Congrats alloak41! Here's to staying with your plan and making the most of it!
