Nice morning run today. Got some switch back trails in. Good view looking north of the hills and mountains.

Well I did something today I haven't done in 22 years. I swam a 50 butterfly. I was never so happy to grab the side of the pool when I finished.

Props to all the competitive butterfly swimmers. You are Studs!!

My body was feeling really tired and sore, so I took a couple of days off. Ate what I wanted, which included cookies! Feel great now, refreshed and ready to hit it hard again today. I like being able to listen to my body and respond appropriately. Legs, abs, and arms today, with a nice, easy 3 mile run to finish it off. Sweet.

Enjoying the fruits of my labors this week. Ran with a friend today and just BS'd the whole time. No hurry but got a decent sweat in.

Sunday I'll get a couple of climbs in. Right now, it's chill time. Cheers!

Well folks, tonights the night..

I am registering for my first Half Marathon, to be held on May 20.

Celebrating the beginning of my training program with a 6 mile run on the boardwalk

In my wildest freaking dreams did I EVER think I would be doing this.

WHY the heck am I doing this anyway?

At a bit of a plateau right now. Holding steady @ 260 for a 243 lbs total loss
I have about 40-50 left
Trying to focus on the positive.. I CAN do this.

You're doing it because you're the man and you can. Very inspirig brother. Don't worry about the plateau. Just give your body time to adjust and keep working. It may take longer to lose the wieght the closer you get to your goal, but who cares? You do this stuff because it feels good, it's good for you, and it helps inspire others. Nothing but good stuff there. You rock dude.

DanB, on the other hand...........

Got a 4 miler in yesterday and fortunately, missed the rain. It was a little chilly.

It's shaping up to be a nice day. Today it's off to the pool. 300 X 4. I might even try a 50 fly again.

Off for a morning run in a little bit. Hopefully I'll catch the sunrise.

Keep up the good work everyone. I hope the original poster corky is still at and reached some goals.

Carpe Diem

Still at it, although today is a rest day. Hanging in about 217, feels great. Keep working everyone.

As for me, I am offically signed up for the Half Marathon on 5/20. No turning back now!

Training program started this past Sunday. Had some tooache issues which slowed me down a bit. Luckily I am a head on the curve with what is supposed to be done at this point

Here is what I am doing..

http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51131/Half-Marathon-Novice-1-Training-Pro gram

I was just doing 5 days, but saw how this was laid out and already have been doing 6 days for the last month.
I am also a week ahead of the game, because I am guessing my time @ Wanee will slow me down for a week

Im solid into the 250's now (256, 247 loss)
Slowly approaching that 50% down

Keep on kicking it fellas1

Went to the track with my daughter yesterday. We ran a mile, then 4 400s and 8 200s. She smoked me, even when I had a huge head start. Trying to sprint is WAY different than the distance stuff, but I feel great this morning. Hope everyone is kickin' it.

Interval training... dang Doug, that is hardcore! Good job!

Got six in yesterday with a long switchback climb. It was a little dryer than I thought it would be so I took it easy and cruised. Off to the pool today.

Hit the pool today. Wasn't feeling it in the first set so I changed it up. Swam 11 50's at a fast pace with 30-40 seconds of rest in between. Worked on my flip turns too.

The swimmer I shared my lane with was like a torpedo. Real smooth through the water and effortless turns. That's what I want to be!

Long run tomorrow with some climbs then it's Friday night relaxing with a few libations and some tunes. Let Freedom Ring!

I'm really getting into this interval training thing with cardio. Seem to have plataued at about 217, but that's fine for now, will let my body get comfortable. My body will let me know when it's time to start moving down again. Keep at it everyone.

For a little more motivation, I say all of our workouts for the next 10 days or so are our own "Beacon Run"!

I did an extended run on the mill this morning but I listened to Fillmore. I'll have to dig out a Beacon show for the next one!
