On behalf of Jon and Jimmy,I wanted to extend a big thanks to John Griffin, The Big House and all that came and attended our aftershow gig at Grant's. We had a blast and it was an honor to share the stage with such amazing talent.
Chris Hicks and Paul Hornsby were fantastic, boith as artists and people.

Having Marcus on sax and Tommy Talton join in made it even more special...

Wish we could have stayed for Saturday but our little puppies would have been oput in the storms alone with very little cover and there was no way that was happening.

Last but certainly not least, a MAJOR thanks to Lee Ann...she picked me up at the airport in Atlanta on Friday afternoon, and met me with all my gear ( a large amount) and was, as always, an amazing help...I could not have pulled it off without her help..

We can't wait until we see you in Macon again..

Great gig, Lefty! Even from the parking lot ... watching it on the jumbotron ... almost like being there!

Lefty,

We saw you guys after the ABB show and were pretty much blown away. That was one hell of an afterparty. We figured we'd be wiped out and enjoy a few drinks and cool out while reminiscing on the ABB set...we were wrong. Yalls energy level and musicianship had us rocking the f*ck out till the place closed! REALLY fun time...and oh-my-Lord do they mix stiff drinks at Grant's Lounge!

Thank YOU Lefty. That is the great thing about this community; nobody gets shut out! Great show as always. Tell Lee Ann I was sorry not to be able to walk to the show w/ her, but I had to go show my friends the highest(!) point in Macon. It is in the vicinity of my old apt (go figure).

It is such a pleasure to see so many friendly faces at a show, the preshow, or the after show. Met a number of new people and saw a ton of familiar ones. Thanks to everyone for coming from near and far. In a way, I almost hope this was my last ABB show; a fitting end to a great run of shows over the years. Almost.

This was a truly off-the-charts show imho. First time really listening to Caroline Aiken, VERY impressed. A blues queen, along the lines of Susan and Donna Hopkins. The real thing, and VERY good.

What followed was exceptional. I really wanted to visit with the family that was in town, but I love standing in front of quality music, giving it my full attention. I get to see the Lefty Collins Band pretty often, and they never mail one in. But I thought this show was exceptional. The precise timing that I love. Jon Player has few peers at his instrument, imho. At any level of the business. Pretty tasty singer too. Jimmy Henderson showed his professionalism too, adapting to the various guests involved. First time I ever really listened to Chris Hicks, and was quite stunned at his ability and intensity. I don't think you could find any more complementary and talented styles than those of Chris, Lefty, and Tommy T. I've come to really admire Paul Hornsby's work over the last several years....from the live shows I've seen, but mostly from the CRS disc. I enjoyed watching his hands up close, and the precise timing. Not over-playing, playing behind the beat with precision at times. Consummate professional. And Tommy! Right on as usual. Unique, original blues phrasing, adding just what the song needed. Another true professional.
Hope there's some recordings of this. Might make a nice commercial release.
