My kharma must be good! I was just taking a walk and ran into the owner of the local watering hole where I'm a regular. He handed me two box seat tickets to tomorrow's Tigers home opener...said he couldn't use them and knew I'd appreciate them. Opening day tickets are like gold in Detroit. It's gonna be a great day!

Awesome Bob! Hope the weather is good. Froze my tushie off at a few opening days at Tiger Stadium.

What bar do you frequent?

The Red Dog Saloon in Milford. I moved away about 6 months ago, but just happen to be back in town for a few weeks.

Yeah, I've sat in blizzards in Tiger Stadium. I went to Opening Day every year from 1980-1994, then never went again until last year. Didn't expect to go this year. The forecast is 49 degrees and partly cloudy.

Aah, thought you meant downtown. There's a place called The Elwood, it's behind center field right between Comerica and Ford Field. On Opening Day they rent out the parking garage next to it to sell beer. It's nuts.

Anyway, my brother owns a commercial construction company downtown and The Elwood used to be a stones throw away, closer to Tiger Stadium. When the Tigers moved into Comerica, the guy that's owns the bar wanted it moved next to Comerica so they picked up the whole bar and moved it. Cool place. Looks like an old 50s diner.

He moved a small theater for this guy too. Pretty wild.

I always hang at the Elwood before games. It's a great place. They had to move it because it used to sit where right field is now.

Way, way too early to hit the panic button but Houston we have a problem. 0-4, with 6 runs scored. Team batting average .204 with 0 HR's. Team ERA 6.25, and a .361 opposing batting average. They have not been ahead at any point of the four games.

Getting off to poor starts has been their history going way back, but this is ridiculous. For whatever reason, they're never ready to play when the season gets started.

They had a nice win on Wednesday night as well, 3-2(11). Hochevar blanked the Tigers for 7 2/3.

Just one of them "unwriten rules"

But yea, when I saw the replays, he looked totally exhusted.. Way too early to be throwing the amount of pitches he has so far.

Terrible spot for the manager....Girardi is probably praying he gives up a hit before he blows his elbow out. Or, he has to take him out because he's out of gas? Talk about a lose/lose....

Agreed.

Otie - I bet you were happy to have Reyes back today. Hopefully he gives that team a much needed spark. Looks like Beltran is coming along as well.

The season sure is off to a great start.

My Tigers are doing well, their pitching has bee top notch and that drunk Cabrera seems to have turned it around.

Ordonez has been on fire since about last June.

Cabrera and Ordonez are on fire. Jackson and looks great. Inge: so far so good. Damon will heat up. Pitching has been great so far. Looks like they may be the real deal.

Sir have you met Chipper Jones? Oh wait that was a hang nail, runny nose, ingrown hair or something serious.

Good start for NYY. Two 3 game road series, two wins in each against Bos and TB. Couldn't ask to open up better than that.

They were down by seven but came back to win today in the ninth on a wild pitch.

The Phillies showed up pretty darn good the last two years, if I recall.

Palanco has been a great addition.

From yesterday's Tiggers / Indians game:

Tiggers left 18 runners on base, Indians 3.

And the Tiggers won.

It was a crazy game. Walked in the tying run, allowed the winning run on a wild pitch. But a win is a win.

Going to the game today. It's gonna be in the low '60's and sunny. Froze my ass of on Friday so this is going to be really nice.
