Brendan, it's not about snideness -- it's about seeing it for what it is -- prima-donna hypochondriacs who do not get into shape for what they're overpaid with guaranteed contracts, to do -- who are asked, every fourth or fifth day, to take their team into the sixth inning or so, then someone else will take over -- it's not that much to ask, to go out there and give it your best effort, even if you're hurting a little

but yes, I'm sure one would feel pain pitching/playing with a strain -- they all do

google the Boston Herald story -- it says it better than I can

Dude, I'm with you. There is definitely a Princess mentality going around.

I'm just saying, throwing a baseball that hard puts a lot of tork on the midsection.

yes it does -- no question that they put their whole body into a pitch -- but gosh, it's become such an injury-prone occupation

thanks man, I figured you weren't disagreeing -- & if you were, that's all good too bro

Go Sox!

The Flubs just flat out suck. 4 more errors last night. How they allow this clown to play is beyond me. Worst signing ever.

This just in:

Alphonso Soriano did NOT make en error last night!

Quade was smart enough to make him the DH.

Don't expect interleague play to go away anytme soon. Some pretty eye-popping attendance figures from last night...

40,631 in Cleveland
33,107 in Baltimore
32,229 in Kansas City
37,958 in Pittsburgh!

Soriano is the worst at getting his body in front of the ball to block it. He uses more of a one-handed swipe on grounders, not what you would expect from a converted second baseman. He's a real irritating player in general IMO.

Tigers finally get a win. Impressive pitching by Porcello today

On Soriano he can hit so they keep him in lineup

This is why the Yanks moved Soriano to the OF in the first place

The first three examples need to come with a caveat. They were all local rivalries. Plus Cleveland is in first place. St Louis travels well so I would think there were a lot of Cards fans in KC.

The Tiggers vs. Picksburgh is a head scratcher.

No they didn't.

He didn't suck so much as a 2nd baseman. Remember when he threw a hot dip sh!tfit when he was moved to left? The guy stinks. Knows nothing about baseball. It's been painful watching him here the past few years.

Yes they did

And he DID suck as a 2nd baseman.
And then he cried like a little girl when Joe put him in left.
He wasnt around much after that

He may have played a few games in the outfield for the Yanks. I don't recall but you are probably correct.

But as was stated by hastings, it was the Nats that tried moving him to left. That was when he was griping. If memory serves, the Nats had an all-star 2nd baseman at the time.

I don't recall him being such a bad defensive 2nd baseman. At least not as bad as an outfielder.

Why the heck doesn't baseball do something about players blasting into catchers?

Terrible what happened to Buster Posey the other night. A superstar in the making may never be the same. Ray Fosse wasn't. Sad.

It's sad to see one get seriously injured, but they can't just give the catcher home plate and the 3rd base line.

Actually, it would be quite simple for home plate. If you as the defender do not have the ball in your possession, then you shouldn't be blocking the plate. If you do block the plate without the ball, THEN you are fair game.

This is the rule in most softball leagues that I have umpired in over the years. I remember one time this catcher was standing on home plate waiting for the throw home. And this dude was BIG. The runner came around third with a full head of steam of knocked the catcher into next week. Catcher's teammates went nuts, telling me the runner should be called out, ejected from the game and strung up by his nuts.

I said simply, "catcher was blocking home plate without the ball". End of discussion.
