It's all bad bro
& even worse right now -- 14-2
at least some/most of our injuries this year were legit -- broken bones & the like
our farm system is sound -- that's the only positive right now
& don't forget -- it aint ovah yet

you guys had a good little run before tonite too -- maybe Manny will make a difference

Since the Tigers folded midway through the season I've been looking for a little diversion and found this:

quote:
63-Year-Old Bill Lee Pitches, Wins

The Grizzled old hippie started a game for the Brockton Rox over the weekend. It was a publicity stunt, sure, but the old dude was still pretty good!

Spaceman went 5 and 1/3, and gave up two runs on five hits. He even managed to strike out a guy 33 years his junior. Sure, the Can-Am league is no great shakes, but a lot of these guys played AA and even AAA ball; they're no patsies.

Said opposing manager Rich Gedman (wow, Red Sox reunion!): "How many people could pull that off? That's what is special. He did it because he believed he could do it. He loves to play. That's a wonderful tribute to him. Despite all the other stuff that people talk about, baseball is special to him and it's fun to watch him."

Opposing hitters said they were wholly unprepared for 50 eephus pitches in a row.

Lee was unavailable for comment because he's, like, so high right now, man.

Fear not bro, you're in like flint -- no BoSox/Rays, or Giants/Colo. to contend with -- yeah those other teams are skidding a little too -- they usually rest their regulars the last few games anyway before the playoffs...

now it's Gonzalez making a run at the Triple Crown!!!! Paul Konerko has been going crazy lately too & is in the top 5 or 10 of the 3 categories...but Gonzalez has come from out of nowhere it seems...

the Cowboys? The 'Pokes??
"America's Team"?????
ugh -- I feel for ya bro (lol)

SPACEMAN YOU ROCK BRO

Thye bottom of the order has not produced. I hated the Ankiel and Lee deals.

Only 12G in the stands in Cincinnati last night, their lowest turnout of a year where the Reds have played good -- indifferent fans too in Atlanta (18G) & as usual Tampa Bay, with more empty-than-full seats for a better-than-the-playoffs showdown of the two best teams in baseball

they still love the Cahds in St. Loo though (40G), even though they're out of it -- it will be fun to see which 1 of those 4 NL teams (Atl/Phila., and SD/SF) doesn't make it -- I think the Pahds, they've played awesome but reality in the form of their 2nd-lowest payroll will catch up

2 out of 3 will sew it up for the Twins -- guessing no more than 25G in attendance, even though the ChiSox still have an outside chance -- it's all about the Cubbies in ChiTown, they're long-gone too

BoSox all but done too -- players like Wake, Lowell, others who won't be back -- we played really good this year, w/key injuries -- & no bull **** "non-displaced fracture of the lower leg" as reported in Friday's paper --

somebody, anybody
I've forgotten who the player was, but it was in last Friday's paper
...but just asking seriously

has anyone ever heard of the injury "a non-displaced fracture of the lower leg"?
what the **** is a "non-displaced fracture"?
if it's a DISplaced fracture does that mean the bone is displaced, or maybe some sort of hairline fracture?

that term simply doesn't make any sense -- a "non-displaced fracture"

am convinced these reports, which are in the paper every single day, keep fans away from the game, showing as they do in plain black and white that these players are pussies, another term for extremely injury-prone

no part of the MLB anatomy is left unchecked in looking for every single ailment, anything that could possibly go wrong, to keep them from whining -- Dwight Evans got beaned in 1974 and played with dizzy spells the rest of the year -- the modern-day player and his agent would only look at that and wonder why the player didn't sue the club for playing him in that condition -- it's ridiculous -- strained triceps, strained biceps, strained quadriceps, strained back -- pitchers and relievers with sore elbows, sore shoulders, forearm tightness --

in short, the medical profession has benefited greatly from the multibillion dollar baseball industry -- clubhouses are now as much medical clinics, staffed as much by trainers and medical personnel as baseball players, MRI machines etc as prominent as bat racks and lockers

understood that people can get injured playing baseball -- MLBers play not to get injured -- you have pitchers being "shut down for the year" nowadays -- on the rare occasions when they run out a ground ball, "sore calf" "pulled muscle" etc etc, and we've seen many times what happens when they fall or collide -- "done for the year"

From WikiAnswers.

What is a nondisplaced fracture involving the greater tuberosity?

nondisplaced fracture//the bone cracks with the broken peices still in alignment.
Tuberosity//knoblike process.
Process// prominant projection.

There are many tuberosities on many of our bones. When you say greater, I assume it is in the femur, the "Greater Trochanter"? The femur has a gluteal tuberosity below the Greater Trochanter. Either way its a cracked bone where the tuberosity is or was.

Hope this helps.

Its pretty sad though.

Rays are one of the best teams in all of baseball.

Its September and the Yanks are in town, and they are fighting it out for 1st place.

And the stadium is half empty??

WTF!

I think even Maddon commented on it.

For whatever reason, neither Florida team draws well. Even when the Marlins won the World Series they didn't draw well. The recession is hurting a lot of teams this year.
zactly.
This area is one of the hardest hit in the state, with Hernando ct being the worse off.
NICE catch by Granderson!
