Red Sox injury updates

The AAA Syracuse Chiefs have their work cut out for them this weekend...they get to face Buchholz on Friday and Beckett on Saturday...if all goes well both will make their next starts in the majors.

Phew, now the Flubs are back in it!!!!

CHICAGO (AP)—Cubs right-hander Carlos Zambrano has completed has anger management sessions and reported to Arizona on Thursday to resume throwing.

Zambrano, who has been on the restricted list since June 29, has not been with the club since his June 25 dugout tirade that led to a verbal confrontation with teammate Derrek Lee.

The Cubs do not have a timetable on Zambrano’s return to the majors.

The team suspended him without pay for three games then placed him on the restricted list and sent him to New York for anger management therapy.

After struggling in the rotation, the Cubs moved Zambrano to the bullpen, but not before moving him back to the rotation. He is 3-6 with a 5.66 ERA in 22 games this season.

The new Twins stadium while being a beautiful park doesn't really help them take advantage of their strengths. As a White Sox fan I am really glad.

Steve Stoned thinks he should be converted to a position player...

Joe Mauer is this years David Wright.

I read a piece where some of the Twins position players were complaining about the dimensions. Sux when you score seven runs at home and lose as they did last night.

I still think they'll make a run at it though -- they have the lineup to do it -- the ChiSox are hot right now, as we've seen -- but the Twins are selling out their new stadium every night & I'll bet they come up with the goods -- Nathan maybe back if they made the post-season

Go Sox

Agreed.

Jeter claimed he didnt know about it,he was home in Fla..

Kinda weird.

But at least in Derek's case, he honors him every home game with only Bobs voice announcing him.

Cardinals came back and swept the Dodgers.......

Cards and Sox both in first - would have been nice if the Sox would have held on in Minnesota.....

It's early yes, but still -- we need to be where TB is right now -- droppin' a little too far back (6 1/2) -- no worries yet though -- even w/all those guys missing we need to make hay starting tonite w/Oakland & their like -- c'mon suck it up Jacoby -- oh that's right, you can't -- "bruised ribcage" -- occurred in April, because he's an MLBer he hasn't played since, most other people would've been up & around by now though -- legitimate collision yes -- typical modern-day ballplayer, same

make hay Twinkies -- Easy schedule coming up -- now they'll get hot & the ChiSox will cool off, like Detroit has -- what a scene at the end of that game yesterday

Go Sox

They were actually broken ribs (and an odd break at that, "horizontal" across the ribs rather than the more typical "vertical" break) which were misdiagnosed at first so when he came back and made a dive for a ball he made it worse. Yes it is frustrating to have him out for so long, but do you think he wants to sit out most of a season like this? And we all know the Sox take a very cautious approach with injuries, which is doubly frustrating with so many out at the same time.

That said, the Sox are a clearly mess right now, all the injuries are definitely catching up to them. Example...since both Matinez and Tek went down a few weeks ago, the catching position has contributed exactly ZERO home runs and ZERO RBI and is something like 4 for 50 and have looked like little leaguers defensively as well. The fill-ins at 2B haven't faired much better. Daniel Nava is a nice story and all, but he does seems a bit overmatched in the OF (a couple of crucial miscues defensively yesterday, Lester did not seem pleased at all). And I've seen way too much of Bill Hall this season, thank you very much.

Perfect timing for a west coast trip and those late 10:30pm start times.

On a more positive note, I'm glad to see Michael Bowden finally up with the big club, even if in a relief role.

Ditto on Bowden, will be interesting to see what he can do, just read something on him recently -- as for Ellsbury, it's been 3 months now, during which he's gotten the top medical care & been closely monitored -- for the injury that he had -- broken ribs, bruised bones etc. -- that should have been enough time -- big ups to him, he gave it a try & still wasn't ready --
...yes I think he wants to be playing & is frustrated -- but it's like it's just another example -- a ballplayer gets hurt nowadays & it's like their careers are in jeopardy -- now there are "rehab starts" even for minor sh!t like back strains etc -- that's what's frustrating too bro -- you know Jacoby will be treated with the kiddest of kid-gloves when he returns -- if he so much as tries to swat a mosquito they'll worry he might throw out his back...
whew those catchers stats -- NG -- we need to get past TB no mattahwhat

It's official from Wrigley. 2010 is it for Lou, the end of the line.

Now they're going to go out and win it for him!
