My most humble apology.

Not sure how dismissing the women of Congress and the Senate isn't condescending but ok. It's all good, your answer was as I expected.

I would truly enjoy hearing your discussion with him on this topic, but I'm betting his has no idea how to respond, and will bail entirely on this discussion, as he usually does when owned and exposed.

Well, do a quick contrast of the 3 Judges I named above with the new Congressman Cortez and the new Senator from AZ, Ms. Sinema who can be seen being told to "watch her a**" when she stood and applauded in support of the President during his state of the Union and tell us how that in anyway is similar to the actions taken by the three extremely distinguished Ladies on the bench of the Supreme Court.

I didn't see anything condescending or insulting about how BigV worded his answer. But we all interpret things differently, sometimes reputation precedes us and influences how people take things we say too.

Maybe so, but you gotta wonder about those who are bothered more by Cortez than our President being investigated for Russian collusion, obstruction of justice, and possibly serving at the behest of Russia, while trashing the entire American government he is supposed to serve, and throwing childish bullying temper trantrums on Twitter....not a peep about it.

In all honesty Nebish, Iím not making anything personal. That shared mentality of Goober, Muleman, BIGV, and millions of others, is the root of our differences, and I truly wish to hear them explain why they hate fellow Americans of a different political affiliation than theirs, more than the severe problems we have with our leader. Who cares about a wall when our President could be working for Putin! People who dismiss this are a danger to our society. And why do they dismiss it? Because he bullies liberals. Itís pure cancer to our society.

And why do Goober, Mule, and BIGV hate liberals so much that they welcome a traitor to lead the United States? Because liberals hurt their feelings when they started calling out bigotry. Thereís never a retort that makes a point, just ďbut you do it too, so why canít I?Ē Itís no different than hating the girl who rejected you and hating the guy she chose instead. We have a President teaching this juvenile mentality, as we see on this board. Thatís a huge problem.

"perhaps some of the women in Congress and the Senate could learn a thing or two"

nebish, that's a broad condescending statement towards of a large, diverse group of smart, capable female politicians. No one said anything about "insulting", but it was indeed not surprising. The fact is that unfortunately a lot of people still dismiss female politicians for reasons other than their opinions.

I took the word some in his statement, to refer to a select few that have been referred to before. Had I believed he was disparaging all woman of Congress, or simply "the" woman of Congress I would've had a different feeling upon reading it.

Only speaking for myself...many things about Trump bother me, some do not. Some things about AOC bother me, some do not. So I don't pass judgement on a person for a specific thing, but remain open and free to agree with people some of the time and disagree with those same people some of the time. No doubt, we are in trouble here with our society and no doubt Trump has made that worse. That does not mean that I will stand to oppose every thing about him and his Administration. But the name calling, the ignorance, the division, the "I'm always right" mentality, that is Trump at his worst and I won't defend it, even though I don't necessarily post in opposition to it all the time doesn't mean that I am then affirming it either. But there are alot of people who do support that behavior, I know, I have a couple friends who do. I am not going to let that ruin my relationship with these friends because I have so many other positive things with these people, but I don't think they should be supporting the President in this way. When we talk rationally, I find that people (alteast the ones I interact with) become much less blind in their support of Trump. Maybe that is because they respect me as a friend and if I have a different opinion, they will question or soften their stance in my presence.

It's why words on twitter or a comments section on a news site or facebook are all so bad because people just throw things out without considering there is more than one side to a story and more than one valid opinion on a given topic and it fans the flames. Some people, not all people, but some people become disarmed through personal engagement and rational talk. But for many, they want positive reinforcement on their beliefs and they surround themselves with only things that agree with them, so they become incapable of having a discussion on anything and they resort to name calling or fighting. I seek and enjoy opinions that are different than mine. I used to only read and listen to things coming from the right 15 or so years ago. Now I almost can't stand it and see through it, but I also take things I hear from left leaning sources with a grain of salt and try to balance something that makes sense to me and I think I am very capable of having a productive conversation with anyone on the left or the right...so long as they too are willing to try and also be productive.

So anyone, Mule, Goober, anyone...the only thing we can think of people we don't know is how they represent themselves through their words on a place like this. If they don't want to open up and really get into the details about why they feel a certain way and we think of them in a negative light, that isn't our fault, that is their fault.

We atleast all have one common interest...we love the music of the Allman Brothers Band. So in that sense we should all be friends (I never liked the family reference). And friends and familes don't always get along, but they should try. America is one big family. We can't all get along on everything and sometimes we are going to disagree on much more than we agree, but we are Americans and we have to figure out how to get along together or else we are finished. Too bad we are going the wrong direction....and yes, I know, Trump has made this worse and I voted for him. It's one vote in my life, what can I do, at the time given my choices that is the one that made the most sense to me, overall. There was good and bad. No candidate is perfect, no decision is perfect. I'm just another flawed human trying to figure things out. Sometimes I fail like we all do sometimes.

I agree 100% with this. And this is the root of my issues with those members...I can take bigoted remarks, but at least man-up and discuss them when asked directly. Not that anyone cares, but if you go back and read the threads, people will see me asking Mule, Goober, and BIGV many many direct questions about their comments, and get nothing. I never understood that on a discussion forum. Answer the questions, engage, discuss.....rather than post an inflammatory remark and bail. I may be a lot of things, but Iíll always answer any question that I see about my posts.
