Best of luck to Devon & Duane on the tour.

I hope they make it out to Seattle.

I'm also hoping this tour will come to the Pacific Northwest and swing by Portland- especially the Waterfront Blues Festival next summer! I'd love to see Devon, Duane, the NMA, jimmy Hall and Samatha Fish all jam together on some Allman Brothers tunes. Samantha and Devon were big hits at the Portland festival a few years ago- he jammed with Gregg's band. too. Hopefully, Devon is back on this website and he will see there is a demand for this kind of music in our neck of the woods...The guys that run that festival are total Allman Brothers freaks so they'd definitely book this tour if it came by next summer. (Hint, hint....)

I am not someone who knows the original line-up's live stuff as well as a lot of you do. I do know that the setlist was often pretty similar from show to show.

However, from what I have heard, and I do have most of the official live shows with Duane - AFE, Stonybrook, Ludlowe Garage, Boston Commons - he was not playing the same licks every night, and also, the wide range of material he tackled in his life as shown on the Duane A Anthology albums suggests to me that he was not stuck in any kind of box. But I also don't know music theory, so ....

What do you make of Whitlock's suggestion that Duane was limited when it comes to improv? I really don't hear it. it seems like the opposite of what I have always believed.

LOL, consider the source.

Seriously, you really have to ask that question????????

Not to be negative but why is this a WORLD TOUR? Did the Allman Brothers ever have a WORLD TOUR? I have seen these guys in clubs and street fairs. Seems odd to me is all I am trying to articulate.
